He's still quick, strong and capable to deal with the physical side of the game. Takle today for example; lads of 21 were limping around in extra time because their bodies were not able to keep up...yet Steve was still running around, chasing the ball and knocking 30 yard passes.

Imo he is just playing too deep atm. He is not as good playing like that.

Kenny must have told him to play deep because Adam aint gonna play the DM role is he? It didn't work at all. Although we had serious bouts of dominance we still struggled. However. we won and thats all that counts. In a couple of days the performance will be forgotten about and its our name thats on the cup YNWA

we showed a bit of bottle there today, massive favourites have been beaten in cup finals before like leeds v sunderland, united v southampton, us v wimbledon, united v sheff wed etc etc and even last year with arsenal and birmingham.
after hitting the bar early on, going a goal down, having efforts cleared off the line, the ref giving them a lot of cheap free kicks, having a couple of penalty shouts turned away, conceding an equaliser in the last minute of ET and missing our first 2 pens you wouldnt have blamed our players for thinking that this wasnt our day and cardiff`s name was on the cup.
there have been liverpool sides in the last 20 years that would have thrown the towel in mentally today believing the fates were conspiring against them.

Good post. Bringing in a sense of balance to the forum.
Champions of England 2020.

Pearce and Parker the dynamic duo  :D

There is this a miss used phrase 'the bulldog spirit' wtf that is I dont know but Pearce seems to fit that bill wit the FA on account of kicking people up in the air for a decade from left back.

Frankly I wouldnt have him near any team let alone the England job even for 90 mins.

Low and behold he appoints the Southern media darling Parker as captain, well you couldnt make it up like.

Honestly the England set up makes me sick and no time for it to be honest.

they`ve always been the same.
liverpool fans have never liked england and it`s fans since they boo`ed roger hunt in the 60`s. the england fans blamed hunt for greaves not being in the side when infact it was hurst who kept greaves out.
in 64 liverpool won the league, in 65 they won the f.a cup when it was the showpiece game of the yearr (and were controversially beaten in the european cup semi final) and in 1966 the year of the world cup they were champions again.
roger hunt was the star player of that liverpool team, a phenominal goalscorer who scored more league goals for this club than even ian rush, and far more than the likes of fowler and owen, if anyone earned his place in that england team it was him.
west ham finished 12th that year on 39 points, we walked the league with 61 points, that gap in the old 2 points for a win days was a country mile, infact it`s even further than a country mile, and yet that west ham side had 3 players in the england starting 11 and the cockneys boo`ed the only player in the team from the league champions.
gerrard should do what carragher did.

Just adds to the farce that is the England national team. Scott Parker folks... Scott Parker  When Wilshire is fit "Scotty" aint in the team.

While i feel for Stevie as he wanted it, other than that i aint bothered as i couldn't give a hoot about England. To be quite honest i cheer for the opposition. The great thing is Stevie will undoubtedly f**k that lot off in the summer, he will have a good 3 to 4 years with us.

Pearce did say something yesterday for the new captain...a player who sees sees playing for England "as the pinnacle". That ruled out Stevie.

As Carra said after missing a pen at the World Cup... “F**k it! It's only England"

He also said that he wanted his captain to be "a player who is "not selfish". So by ignoring Gerrard is he insinuating that Gerrard is a selfish player then?

Yeah what a selfish git he is dragging us through games from 3-0 down. Not to mention constantly playing out of position to accomodate others in the England side who are inferior to him. If only he went the way of good old Scholesy and jacked it in at 29. :Oo:

Pearce is too dumb to insinuate anything. Hes a bit fick

Would love Stevie to score a pearler tonight, and retire at full time.

Looks like Gerrard is going to play off the striker for England tonight, rather than as a deeper lying central midfielder, as he has been doing for us. If he puts in a strong performance Kenny might be tempted to play him off Carroll or Suarez and use Spearing and Adam in the centre.

It is an insult to the best midfielder in england if not europe.
Next in line for the captaincy, he has been overlooked for Arrys little average cockney. Triffic!
Gerrard has been publicly humiliated by Pearce and should fu'ck the cu'nting FA off. As soon as I heard the southern journalists touting Parker as Captain two weeks ago I knew they would fu'ck Gerrard off
Would tiny tears, racist tw@t Terry have been demoted if he was playing?
I think Fu*king not.
Drop england Stevie and stay with those who appreciate you.
Parker england captain

Even in today's ridiculous world, where stupid things happen every day, playing Stevie tonight stands out.

Stuart Pearce, you are a f'ucking idiot.
