ah, the old Net outlay b0ll0cks argument....so it's ok to waste money because we got lots in? what utter [email]cr@p...nothing[/email] justifies the outlay on rubbish we've done, nothing but players turning in good performances. And i expect a damn sight more than a fraction of what we've seen.

As i said...18 months and 100+ million should be enough to get a team like ours into the top 4. Why? Because we already have some world class players (reina, Gerrard) and we also had a good defence...which you seem to credit kenny for building

Does Kenny not get the credit for the defensive situation then ?

You still fail to understand how hard it is to break into the top 4 - City spent 500 mil buying the best players in the world to get into it .

Wake up and realise that .

Yes we spent 100 million in 12 months but we had to spread it around and start to rebuild a squad which had been ripped apart over the last 24 months - since we were last in the CL we lost well over a 100 million worth of players so we need to start to rebuild to that level .

That will take time with so many new players arriving and it will still need more arrivals and departures . At the same time we also have to spend money looking towards future sustainment as well as right now .

The problem is people like yourself don't see past your nose and demand it all happens straight away .

Lucky for us I believe the majority of the fans and our owners realise this and the team will be given time to be rebuilt.

Now can you tell what would happen if we got a new manager in during the summer and he fails to get us 4th spot during his first season ? Does he also get fired.

Are you seriously that dense to realise the relevance of Man City towards our current situation ?

Rewind the clocks back two years and City were trying to break into the top 4 and spent 250 mil and "failed" . The next season they spent around 150 odd million and made the top 4 - so they spent 400 - 500 million overall to break into the top 4 and you expect us to do because we spent 100 million !!

all i see Benny is this:

-We've gone backwards after signing players that were suppose to improve our squad

-We can't afford to waste 100 million and don't have unlimited funds

-You don't need 500 million to get near the top 4, as Newcastle have proven

-Finishing 7th and getting into the micky mouse cup final with a championship side is not a sucessful season

We're closer to NORWICH than Spurs in the league and if you are happy with that then we might as well get Roy back in charge

Well we play like we have 9 defenders on the pitch every game. Are midfielders not allowed to go past the half way line anymore? thats how it seems

glory hunter? I think I've been supporting the wrong team for the last 25 years :laugh:

And someone better tell Stoke and Norwich that they can't go any higher in the league because they haven't spent enough money

Correct- we are near the top 4 as well but we have been talking about getting into the top 4 not just near it . Are the goalposts changing now ?

The CC is a trophy stepped in our tradition - are we going to turn our noses up at a trophy when we havent won one for 6 years !!! When did we start having the right to be so snobbish !!!, if we get to the final and win i fully expect yourself not to join in the celebrations. Have we finished 7th already ?

LFC2007 mentioned finishing 5th one point of 4th and you said that Kenny should still be sacked because its not 4th ?!!

We are closer to both Arsenal and Chelsea than Norwich ( great when you twist situations to suit your argument ) . Are they not our challengers for 4th spot ?

I will leave you with one question - how can we create so many chances ( the stats show the amount of shots on goal and woodwork hit) if we play with so many defenders on the pitch ( or it looks like we do ) .

we are 7th right now benny...or have you not noticed that. And i don't rate the league cup...never have and the fact the other finalist is in the Championship says it all.

and you don't need to spend 500 million to GET IN the top 4...and i fear your money arguement will become more absurd as the likes of Stoke and Norwich catch us.

Make sure you tell them teams that they can't go any higher, because they haven't sent 100s of millions on players, won't you?

Yeah some games we do create chances. Hence why a few posts ago I said we are due to batter someone soon. But other games, and its seemign a larger majority lately to me, we are just playing gash. thats just my opinion. I'm not name calling, I'm not throwing a hissy fit, just stating how I see things. You can have a different opinion, you can be happy with how things are going. Others of us demand more from the club. and thats ok, thats what the internet is for, stupid debates where the only outcome either of us want is 3 points in the next game.

Our club has always rated the league cup way back to the days of Bob

So you won't be celebrating if we get to the final and win it .

I never said you needed to spend 500 mil to get into the top 4 - those sort of funds is what you need If you want to instantly get into the top 4 - if you don't have that then you spend a bit whilst building and taking time ( like Spurs ) .

Why are Stoke and Norwich going to catch us ?

Does that mean we are going to go further down the table ? How the hell have you come to that suggestion ?
