Managers should be given time on merit of progress, both on and off the field. So far this season Kenny hasn't done much of either.

Instead, he's gone down in history as being the only manager to waste the best part of 100 million of cr@p in one summer....authorised the team (and himself) to wear Suarez t-shirts in front of the world after the player was accussed of racism....and named 8 defenders in a team against Stoke AT HOME.

Then there's the fact Kenny seems unable to change his game plan and the fact he's chasing Darren Bent for 20+ million.

and people wonder why some of us are depressed?

I think it's obvious there are two teams here, myself and Kewell in one, the more cynical unhappy depressde. And the Benny/Tubby team who are deluded and obviously on some pretty hardcore class a drugs

After heavy spending on poor personnel, we have regressed this season from the end of last. We average less points, score less goals, and have a 70m hole in our pockets with three players who have contributed less than Ngog, Maxi and Spearing. Theres no point hiding from it. Unfortunately the like of Benny think that outlining our  problems equates to a declaration for Kenny to go...and even prompts paranoid comments such as "he must be given more time" (who has said he shouldn't?). We are sitting 7th, below Newcastle who's net spend is zero, we have a very average squad inspite of heavy spending.

You said Kenny should be sacked is we didnt get 4th - LFC2007 said what if we get 5th just missing out on 4th by a point and also win a cup and you said he should still be sacked if he doesnt get 4th - so your talking on progress - you demanded 4th . Getting 5th and a cup is progress.

So if a new manager comes in and doesnt getting 4th does he get sacked ? we could have a new manager every single year.

It was actually around 60 million he spent during the summer plus one freebie - and with that 60 million we bought 5 players. Man City spent that on 2 !!!!

in regards to the T-shirt thing...we should have done NOTHING...SAID NOTHING...played it all out behind closed doors. Instead we made complete tw@ts of ourselves and portrayed our club in the worst possible light.

and why benny bangs on about City, i've no idea.  We're NOT CITY...and if you waste 100 million on sh!te it hurts us badly because we've not got the funds to speed that money again.  That's why we're struggling this season and that's why we are persisting with the likes of Carroll, Henderon and Downing.

Again, and I dont know how many times i need to say this (i have noticed you only reply to some posts, not the one where you are proven wrong) I dont care where we finish, but if the additions dont add to the team and we dont play good football, whats the point?

You can all argue as much as you can but face facts we are not going to get into the top 4 unless we spend a shed load of wonga bringing in established and proven players. It's all good and well to have young players for the future but what good is that if they do not get a taste of what it is to win? You need a mix of youth and players who are ready to perform now.

It's early days yet but im not sure if soccernomics or moneyball is going to get us into the top 4 so easily. City are here to stay as are Utd and Chelsea will always have money. Spurs are probably the weakest link however they don't look at all like they are going to drop points this season, not enough to drop out of the top 4 anyway.

I think just matching last seasons finish and a good run in the FA cup/Carling cup is the best we can hope for, until we are able to spend big. You can say we spent 70mil on xyz but in reality we overspent on essentially 35m worth of talent.
