#1.Comparing us now to where we were a year ago is a ludicrous comparison. We had the worst manager (arguably in our history) who was there under false pretences due to the club being in the process of being sold, and had the worst start in over 80 years. The Hodgson 6 months wasn't legitimate, he was never our manager, and where we were a year ago should never be used as a baramoter of "how far we've come". No-one but Statler and Waldorf wanted him here, the players hadn't a clue who he was nor could understand his methods, and the fans couldn't stand him. As far as im concerned we had Houllier, then Rafa, and now Kenny.. with a stand in inbetween Rafa and Kenny. The accurate comparison would be to go back prior to the Hodgson farce (May 2010) where we were finished 7th.. which is where we are sat right now. We have spent a fortune, filled our squad up with expensive average players, and are no further forward. The accurate assessment in terms of comparing Kenny is his 5 months this season to his 5 months last season. We are averaging less points, averaging less attempts, averaging less goals.
#2.Man City is one of four clubs.. they are not the barometer for CL qualification.
Alan Pardew took over at the same time as Kenny, has had zero net spend, and sit above us in the league.
You cant just ignore a manager at the club
The situation Kenny arrived at the club is the starting from when he should be judged - you can just take away what happened with Hodgson because it doesnt suit your argument.
You cant pick and choose when you judge him from - it should be the whole period
From Jan 2011 to Jan 2012 - that is his period . And when you look at that picture then Kenny has improved us, taken us forward and made big strides towards a great future.
