I know we all love King Kenny but given the teams he's had to play in I've finally decided that Stevie G for me is the best player to ever wear our shirt.   :buttrock

Easily the best player I've seen wear the shirt. John Barnes' prime (87-91) was slightly before my time although he was obviously a genius.

Infact he's the best English player of his generation full stop. The only one who comes close is Paul Scholes and even then he's a completely different type of player to Stevie.

The fact that some are already writing his career off is laughable. Even now when he's fit he'd walk back into the England side (even though I wish he'd retire)  :D

:buttrock

I've said it before and I'll say it again... He's the reason I'm a Liverpool fan.  My favorite player, and he always will be.

Players like Stevie don't come around very often... I was talking to buddy of mine the other day from Coventry, a Wednesday fan.  He said the only premier league team he likes is Liverpool because we've grown players like Stevie G.  Says he's the best England's had, and the only one that deserves to pull the shirt on for his country time and time again.

I just hope that he has enough time in him left to be able to steer us to another league title. One of the best players to ever wear a red shirt and he really deserves it. If it doesn't happen I'll hate Twitt and :censored: even more for what they did to us.

If he stays fit and quits international football, i dont see any reason why he cannot go on like beckham, giggs, scholes etc.

They have all been effective right up to age 34/35. Sure he would probably have to adjust his playing style slightly, but thar could give him another 4 years.

This guy deserves a league title.

Tony Evans on twitter lost his mind! He said Steven Gerrard is not world class, if he and Torres were we would have won the league in 2009

Tony Evans has serious issues. I follow him but not sure why.

..we have missed him  :bowdown

Henderson, Adam, Lucas I don't really care who in midfield gives way, watch out Gerrard is on his way back.

If i recall correctly... Stevie and Torres only started about half our matches together during that season.  (both on pitch at same time).

Just to repeat what I posted on the Spurs match thread. Liverpool Echo report that Gerrard will not be involved at all against Spurs but is expected to travel to Brighton.
