Real Madrid play in the Champions League and still are as poor as they are in the La Liga.

It does not matter where they play because they have players that some clubs dream of signing yet those players are useless. Without any confidence, determination and hard work there will be no success.

Now slither back to the cave you came from.

the problem with our away form is purely psychological.

I've think I've said that 25 times today.

in many respects it's the complete opposite form when houllier was here. under him, the way we set ourselves up made us a very effective away side. infact we had the best away record in the premiership for a couple of seasons running between 2001 and 2003. we tended to struggle at home against teams who just threw men behind the ball.

And now its the other way around. We can't seem to balance these things out, hopefuly Rafa will be able to do so by the end of the season or so.

Sorry AB, I am not quite clear as to what you think we need on the road   ???

We lack confidence on the road, instead of controlling the game we are trying to get back in it everytime we're on the road.

At home our confidence and determination is greater and thats why we win, on the road its a different story.

Yeah but I really cannot see what we need on the road, you are saying that on the road we lack confidence, and on the road we need to replace this quickly, because on the road we are losing games, but on the road we are not as strong as at home, therefore on the road we need more confidence, so that on the road we will more games, which means that if we win on the road then our confidence will grow on the road so we can play better on the road................Have I got it ??????.................or do you need to explain why we are playing terribly on the road, because on the road we lack confidence, and on the road we need to replace this quickly, because on the road we are losing games, but on the road we are not as strong as at home, therefore on the road we need more confidence, so that on the road we will more games, which means that if we win on the road then our confidence will grow on the road so we can play better on the road

I think it is all making sense now, thankyou A.B. you are truly the LFC road expert  :D  ???

Thank you for wasting my time reading that.

Lets just say the feeling is almost always mutual  :D

But Real Madrid are successful you cannot argue that. The main reason they have had great success is because they buy the best players. They will compete to the end this season too. If you think hard work and determination will make up the gap I am afraid you are very blinkered. Any league in the world is dominated by those with financial power over their rivals. I will now go slither back where I came from where apparently Ive been hiding for the last few years  .

Back in the early 90's there was no Ronaldo,Zidane,Beckham,etc... yet they were more successful then they are now with world class players.

Davor Suker was a great striker for Madrid, he scored 30+ goals almost every other season, I have not heard that Ronaldo or Raul have done that yet.

Obiously when you have the best players and spend the most money you are going to have a good chance of being successful, but Real Madrid have an unbalanced team and not much strengh in depth.

Liverpool have spent plenty of money but much of it has been wasted over the past 3 years.

They have won La Liga twice and the Champs league twice in the last four years. But enough of Madrid, I am just saying that unless we can compete to sign the best players we really do have a mountain to climb. If the finance had been available to buy the best around I think you would have seen Benitez purchasing different footballers, maybe Alonso aside. We are not competing in the same marketplace. I hope he can achieve it on his budget. If he does he will have done a remarkable job.

Valencia won the La Liga against the likes of Real Madrid.

You see it does not matter if you buy a player for 80 million or for 8 million, its only a price tag. It does not gurantee how a player will play.

Hard work, confidence and determination is the key to success. Madrid have tons of money with class players but get outplayed by an average club.

Only time will tell if you or I are correct A.B. I hope you are right comrade because I want Liverpool back dominating home and abroad like they used too as much as you do. Lets hope Benitez can bring back those times and succeed where others have failed over the last 14 years or so  :)
