Ukrainian striker Andriy Voronin says he will make a return to Liverpool and 'conquer' the Barclays Premier League after his season-long loan to Hertha Berlin.

Voronin joined Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen on a free transfer in February 2007 but struggled to make an impact at Anfield - scoring just five goals in 19 matches.

However the 29-year-old netted 11 times in 20 appearances Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga and is determined to be a hit in England.

'It wasn't a bad season in Germany but now I am coming back to conquer England,' he told a newspaper in Kiev.

'I'm a person who likes to face new challenges. It's time to prove to myself and to those people who think I can score a lot of goals only in Bundesliga, that it's not so.

'Liverpool is one of the world's strongest clubs. To play for it is a great honour for any footballer.

'I know it's not going to be easy but I feel ready for a real fight to get into the first choice team.'

The Ukranian international still has two years to run on his contract with Liverpool and is joining the team on July 5.

I would have thought with him having a good season at Hertha we wouldnt be short of buyers. I also would hope we see more of Babel and NGog before we see more of Voronin.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

The voronator returns.

I expected voronin to be a decent signing for us, but that obviously didnt work out. Hopefully after a good spell away he'll come back with some confidence and do a job for us.

Well if he does come back he will only be a backup striker so at least then we have a choice between Voronin and Ngog.

He's good to have as a backup and he didn't do as badly as some are making out , he has talent but for a striker he's usually playing too deep and that could be a problem . Would be interesting to see how a good season has worked out for him and whether he can show that consistency and form here in the premier league

well I for one welcome him back, he did have a good season in Germany and I think that he was far better than Eggnog so lets give him a another chance before we all jump on his back. It doesn't mean that we don't need another top notch striker though.
