Kenny needs the fans to back him but he also needs the fans to understand that he like roy is working with players that are not up to it, untill he gets new players all he can do is to try and give them a bit of confidence and hope for the best.
we need new players NOW!

I know.. I was worried... but now I'm not![]()
Roy's fault, Rafa's fault, G+H fault, Parry's fault, players fault and Christian Purslow's fault![]()
Now we have the King, and he will turn things around in no time

We developed a fear of losing as opposed to a desire to win.
I believe that in the eternal optimist that is Dalglish and Clarke's excellent coaching record our away day blues will reduce somewhat. Our home form will remain solid, especially as it was largely unaffected even when Hodgson was here. With the crowd behind the manager and the team it should be even better.

. We all know we need new players, I don't think anyone can deny that but our squad is still far far superior to the like of Blackpool, Wolves, Northampton, Wigan, and a 65-70% of the rest of the Premiership so we NEVER should have been in this position. Hodgson didn't fight the fire, he used the wrong bloody extiguisher and made it a ton worse. The form and confidence of our squad is absolutely wrecked. It wasn't like that before the season started. you remember how everything was rosy? Toores commits, Gerrard commits, we signed Joe Cole. Everyone happy. Well it's a bloody mess now but you seem to be suggesting it was pretty much inevitable no matter who was in the hot-seat but I disagree. Torres head didn't drop right now, he's just full of anger and frustraion and it's boiling over. That's what happens to top players at top clubs when things go wrong.
However....some of the team selection decisions were strange last night. I know we played on Sunday and a lot of the game with 10 men but he made fundamental mistakes with team selection last night - Johnson at LB + Poulson and Jovanovic coming into the starting line up!!!!

, I disagree. Let's take Dirk Kuyt, for example. Six months ago he had a great World Cup, was instrumental on the right for Holland, put in tackles, crosses, ran his guts out. Last night, he was unrecognizable, Why? I submit it's mental, so much of sport is mental, you don't go from world class to league 2 standard without doubting your abilities as a footballer. Kenny's job is to restore confidence in the players' own abilities. These players have been through a sh!t storm of epic proportions - ownership fiasco - court cases - changes (now 3) in the fundamental training regimens, tactics, and personnel of three different managers. jacdaniel wrote:I think one or two people are being too harsh on Kenny's appointment.
This is only his 5th day in charge FFS!

I have to agree with this. Many posters posted up a different team believing to be the starting line up and that filled me with confidence, then I saw the proper one and there were stange selections indeed.
Maybe Kenny was giving Poulsen one last throw of the dice, he didn't cope. Same goes for Jova. Johnson at left back was baffling and the midfield looked far too lightweight, but I guess it's going to be that way until Stevie returns
