Aquilani for Melo? Are you insane? We already have enough CDM's. We bought Juve's CDM in Poulsen, why would we pick up another, albeit Poulsen has been woeful so far.

We lack creativity..clearly! Our top 4 for assists last season; Gerrard, Aquilani, Benayoun and Insua.
We need some flair, we've needed it for a while actually. Is it possible to bring Aquilani back in Jan? Although I'm not sure he'd be too keen on the idea.

Priorites IMO are; striker, left wing, right wing. I'd keep everyone except Poulsen and Babel. Move Konchesky on if we can get a decent left back in. Everyone else on the list we need. No good beating Chelsea then only taking 1 point against Stoke and Wigan because the players are tired.

Oh and a new manager wouldn't hurt either

I reckon Meireles would do a decent job for assists and goals IF he is played in his preferred bloody position.

As far as I know we can't get him back unless Juve refuse the option to buy him. Can't see why they would do that though, he has been one of their best players this season.

I wouldn't let him go...yet. Joe is a very talented player but clearly his Liverpool career hasn't took off yet.  The red card and penalty miss didn't do his confidence any good early on and now the injury.

Its also hard for players like Meiriles and Cole to settle into a team in such crisis.  I think Cole will prove to be a good player eventually, but needs time.

Would consider selling in the summer if he doesn't start doing better though.

That's news. Normally any loan deal can be revoked at any time, as long as sufficient criteria is met. I.e. Emergency recall.

Today we are linked with Ireland and A Young at Villa with Babel being suggested as a makeweight for the Young deal. These are welcome targets in the Jan window and 2 that I would fully support. Hopefully Houllier helps his old club out :)

Reading various articles it would appear that the club have identified players they want and will be moving in and hopefully sealing the deals in the window. Great news if thats the case and particularly if we can keep on the coat tails of fourth place and give it a real go in the new year.

We are only 6 weeks from the opening of the winter transfer window so there is only going to be more and more rumours about who we are going to buy. The new owners have said they want young players (where possible British) coming in who are hungry for success.

If names like A Young, S Ireland and A Johnson are 'on the list' and we are in with a chance of a top 4 come January then the americans need to make a calculation on the return on investment of investing such money on these players. With the names mentioned it is a win/win regardless as in the short term they would massively improve our chances of a top 4 finish and in the long term they are the young hungry players the american owners have stated they want. :)

personally id move heaven and earth to try get eden hazzard here hes absolute class easily the best attacking youngster around
we need to try and get the cream of young players and build for the present and future

lukaka forward
hazzard winger
m'villa midfield
sakho defender

all very young very good players with great experience already, they wouldnt be cheap but wouldnt break the bank either and would repay us ten fold, theres a few more gems out there we just have to put our faith in them and play them when/if they come to us like arsenal have for years
i havent mentioned any british players because they are overpriced but if we can carry on bringing in the likes of steerling shelvey and wilson then ofcourse that would be even better

Bariosz ( great striker and if we can get him for Babel plus a couple of milion i would be really happy)
Marko Marin ( young player , very fast and technicaly gifted )

i think that's enough for the winter transfer priod

PabloMedina28 has been playing Football Manager 11  :D

Just messin m8 from all accounts Hazzard has a tonne of promise but the lad from Lukaku from Anderlect is the one all the buzz has been about recently hes been linked with every big club in Europe! Havnt seen any of him so not gonna make a call on that one but it would be nice to be in the hunt for some proper talent again.

I'll throw my FM experience into the mix and give a shout out (AGAIN) for Alexis Sanchez from Udinese. I have saw that wee fella play a few times too though and hes dynamite. Lightning quick, full of tricks and scores goals - the last time I saw him he was on the left wing in a 3313 formation for Chile in the WC. If Roy put the lads out in that formation on Sunday against the Spurs half this forums regular posters would have simultaneous heart attacks :p
