Well, since Juve just bought him for a pretty hefty sum, I can't see him being available for years.

January is not the time when you change a team into something.
That is for the summer and we ****** that up so the season is ruined. Just save the money and spend next summer when more players are available and not at inflated prices.
But we'll need around 100 million to be able to compete for top places.

There has got to be a few players worth looking at in January. Much of the spending will need to wait till summer, but if we can pick up one or two quality players that address obvious gaps in the squad then that is a good windows work. They don't have to be first on the team sheet, but they need to be players who'll fit the squad in the short and longer term. For example, someone like Roque Santa Cruz may be available, not too expensive and he isn't a bad striker. Not young at 29, which is a concern, and has struggled with injury, so the price would have to be right, but worth a look surely.

Hmm, after reading my own post I think I've convinced myself he isn't worth a look after all!

maybe try santa cruz on loan. I tell you who have impressed me that albrighton from villa and matt jarvis both look to have big futures.

Jarvis would realistically be a very good addition to the side... Good enough to play for the current England side imo..

yes please:

Niko Kranjcar has confirmed he is close to quitting Tottenham after again being frozen out of manager Harry Redknapp's plans.

Croatia midfielder Kranjcar last week revealed he would leave White Hart Lane if he was not handed more first-team opportunities.

The 26-year-old has played second fiddle to Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon this season but an injury to the latter saw him start his first match of the campaign a week and a half ago in the 4-2 Barclays Premier League defeat at Bolton.

However, he immediately lost his place to David Bentley and has not featured since issuing his quit threat, although he continues to insist he would prefer to stay at Spurs if his situation improves.

He told Mediaservis: "Of course, I have to wait to see what Tottenham have to say, but as things stand, a transfer somewhere else is not that far away.

"I am not angry or too disappointed. I believe that things will improve at Spurs.

"But if not then I will look for a club where I can play week in and week out.

"I don't want to spend my years just sitting on the bench because I love this sport, which is why I'm unhappy when I'm not playing more regularly."

Kranjcar's father Zlato, who is the manager of the Montenegro national team, claims his son has already made up his mind to leave, telling 24sata: "Niko is definitely leaving Tottenham.

"That is his choice and I totally agree with him.

"There just isn't any sense to be sitting on the bench all the time."

Zlato last week revealed his son's preferred destination was Italy but that a move to Liverpool was also a possibility.

Kranjcar is under contract at White Hart Lane until 2013.

A few have mentioned Adam Johnson but another from City if take a look at is Michael Johnson. Question marks over his injuries but still a good prospect. Was never really given a proper run out IMO.

It would be unlikely, but Benzema is not getting many games for Real Madrid.... might be too pricey and he may not come but well wort the money.

Dundalk wrote:Adam Johnson admits he may have to consider his future at Manchester City if his chances continue to be restricted.

The 23-year-old moved to Eastlands from Middlesbrough in this year's January transfer window and made a seamless transition to the Barclays Premier League.

His form prompted a call-up to Fabio Capello's preliminary 30-man England squad although he failed to make the final cut for the World Cup.

However, Johnson has started just five league games this season and, although he insists all he wants to do is become established for City, he admits he may have to consider moving on.

"Every footballer has to think about it when the time comes.

"It is still early but I definitely would consider it."

SIGN HIM MR HENRY!!

how much would he cost now?

would love it though if he came here. fantastic talent. lee j put a word in.  :D

word put in about half hour ago, no real commitment but he did comment that Stevie has already been stuck into his ribs to get him to ditch City and come to Liverpool. Adam is good friends with Gerrard and they chat often about the situation at City.

apparently, Mancini has his favourites of which Adam is not one. In fact Mancini has pretty much said he doesn't rate Adam at all.

From Adam... "Mancini makes all the players eat nothing but pasta, all the time, every fuking meal fuking pasta. I went out a few weeks ago to buy a watch, me and a mate went into pizza hut for a pizza, the press snapped a few pictures and next training day Mancini is laying into me about eating pizza saying it's not aloud and I can't do that while I'm at his club - fuk that, I dont need this sh!t".

I've just emailed him back so I'll keep ya informed if owt else gets said.
