In january window - Where do we strengthen?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I do like Agbonlahor. I reckon he's pi$$ed as well at GH's preference for either Heskey or Carew up front so might be interested in trying his hand elsewhere. He's english too (well, I'll try not to hold that against him :;):  ) and young.....so a winner on the UEFA law front and Henry's plans...

I have a (half) sister who went to the same school as him.  He was a year below, for that reason Ive always kinda kept an eye on him. I have been really impressed by him this past few years and I think would be good as a impact sub.
He would have to raise his game or maybe move wide to be a regular starter.
Very promising though and will continue to develope his game IMO.
Villa would want big money though, 15m+ easy. If we are raiding villa I`d have Young top of the list, simply because its a little less of a punt.
Dont judge a book by the cover, unless you cover just another, because blind exceptance is a sign,
Of stupid fools who stand in line......  Like..

Cissoko for left back. N'zogbia for the left side. A Young in the summer, Cahill from Bolton.  Llorente upfront. Absolutely sorted.

Reina

Johnson  Cahill Agger Cissoko

A Young Gerrard Mereiles Nzogbia

    Torres Llorente

Out: Poulsen, Babel, Jovanovic

Would support that 100%.

On top of the suggestions made I would add Steven Ireland (rumoured to be dis-illusioned with life under GH) and Hugo Rodallega. Not sure what it is about him other than he looks direct, quick and a handful for defenders.

Cahill, A Young, Ireland, Llorente and Micah Richards and we are sorted.  :buttrock

Whats with all the talk about Nzgobia... Not good enough imo...
Not many England-based players who represent value for money... Shawcross, Cahill, Richards, Ireland, and maybe A.Young... Not a big fan of Agbonlahor either...
Plenty of excellent young(ish) talent outside England though so maybe we should look elsewhere in the short term..

15 million for a bit part player?  i'd prefer to look elsewhere TBH.

Jarvis you mean? He'll be worth at least double his true value because he's English. He is a very good player though and could easily play for a bigger club than Wolves.

I feel we need an aerially diominant centre half, a left back, a midfield destroyer, a left winger and a back up for Torres.

As it stands, Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal, Man City and Spurs all have better squads than us imo.

yep thats the problem strength in depth. I can never understand why we dont sign anyone on loan. Because then the player knows he has to impress in order to get a contract.

told you am always right roy looking to sign matt jarvis in january window.

Hulk might very well be quite expensive yeah... the portuguese top clubs seem to be very good at pulling big fees for their star players. Speaking of such I would also very much like for us to be in for Fabio Coentrao from Benfica. He was Portugals left back (played more like a left winger though) at the WC, and he is imo just the type of player we need (and quite young as well). Again he would cost a small fortune though, and we would probably be up against steep competition (Bayern Munich allegedly tried to buy him in the summer).

Carew??? No way. He's :censored: and definately not the type of player this club wants to be associated with. NESV would look like dicks buying a 30 something after there words over the last couple of weeks.

Hulk? Inconsistent for me. Watch Porto a lot and very hit and miss. I wouldnt mind havin a pop at Podolski. How much for him do you think? Failing that, LLorente, Lisandro, Bent (scores consistently in prem) or Benzema

Hulk ?? Not bad , but Porto have a much better player and he goes by the name of Falcao. Would love to see him at Liverpool , would be quite expensive though.

Is there anyone up in Scotland?  A new Kenny, Souness, Hansen, Nichol, St John?

I wonder when was the last time our scouts went up the M6?
