Proper made up for him last night.
You could see the difference in the tempo and urgency as soon as he was on the pitch and his first goal demonstrated what someone with desire can achieve.

Too many of our own fans take this lad for granted.

Makes me sick to be honest.

Best player by a mile in our recent history  :bowdown

For influence on his team there isn't a player in World football who does what Stevie does, dunno whether that's a good or bad thing but he was freakin' outstanding last night...... Unbelievable Jeff!!!

I think it was ben who said earlier that Gerrard rarely gets the credit he deserves from our fans, and gets some sickening stick on forums. He's 100% right.

Last night for the umpteenth time Gerrard through his excellence made an average manager look like a tactical genius.

I was reading the post (newspaper) before and it was interesting and for me refreshing to see the manager giving Stevie so much praise.
I am not wanting to appear to be critical of Rafa but for me i think there's nothing wrong with coming out after someone has had a blinder and giving them the praise they deserve.

By the way, anyone who still thinks he should be playing in central midfield, picking the ball up off the back four, just needs to look at that 45 minutes last night.

Read it again.

Think.....and then reply.

I was stating the fact that i liked the praise he was given AFTER the performance.
Not indicating that the performance was anything to do with Roy or Rafa.
Simply i mean...i like praise being given out rather than the constructive observational stuff that Rafa prefers.

If that's the case. mate.....and I DID think about the original rely, ditto this one, is that you don't need to mention Rafa, Roy or any bleedin' manager if your point is "play well, get praised..."
So think before you post, eh ? There's a good lad...

Listen mate, i think it is relevant to the topic.

For me players will be happier if they are praised when they do something good.
Not a major thing so dont get your knickers in a twist.
I do understand the reasoning behind what Rafa does, i just prefer the conventional praise that's all.
