Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Watched him playing in an england shirt like a man posessed. He was all over the place. Brilliant
Puts a Liverpool shirt on and plays like a tw@t. Strolling round, giving the ball away, pulling faces, hitting pigeons and looking like he wanted to be anywhere but st andrews.

One of the problems for me why Gerrard didn't play well against Birmingham is because he is being played too far forward. For me, he plays better when he is further back in the centre of midfield, winning the ball and supplying endless forward balls to attackers. When he's up supporting the striker, he spends a lot of time running back for the ball instead of moving forward from deep midfield.

I would play him alongside Meireles in central midfield, where he can help create a lot of the moves going forward. Basically in the centre of all the action. I'd rather play Cole or Babel just behind Torres, in the position Gerrard occupied againast Birmingham. Just my opinion.

Steven Gerrard

Anyone liking this? I think its very good from our captain to try to be positive in spite of not having a good start. Very leader like in his words and he has been one of our best players in the start of the season.

Stevie is a red through and through and he has proved that. My worry is that all these words, inspriing as they are and much needed, are currently falling in to a balck hole.

Agger comes out with his statement
Torres is being knocked in the medianand his confidence is low
Question sof whether Roy is up to the job are being debated on the medium waves..
and the club is in finanacial melt-down ...

I'm afraid this is all gonna worse before better..
THE BRENDAN REVOLUTION IS UPON US !

I would rather see our captain speak on the field ,he has been a huge disappointment so far. Hope he matches his words with actions.

I havn't seen the ManU game and i'm aware he scored twice...but that isn't what i expect of him - he should dominate the field he should lead by example and too many times this season including against WBA and Arsenal and others he was absent.

dunno what you expect of him Only Me but I think your criticisms could well be aimed at other players
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

He is our captain and best player - he is the symbol of this Liverpool team ,and when he looks depressed on the pitch ,unfocused and at time unnoticeble ,it is a huge disappointment for me. I have a total differnet set of expectation then i have from Johnson ,Lucas to Skertel.

Mate I'm not being rude or anything but you criticise him for looking depressed, then freely admit you didn't see the man U game where he scored twice and was absolutely outstanding.

Steven Gerrard is the least of our problems right now mate, IMHO of course.
