Great interview that.  He seems quite positive lately and he is the one person that we need to be positive.

havent heard things like that from him since the title challenge.

He is our captain and best player - he is the symbol of this Liverpool team ,and when he looks depressed on the pitch ,unfocused and at time unnoticeble ,it is a huge disappointment for me. I have a total differnet set of expectation then i have from Johnson ,Lucas to Skertel.

just for your info, there are 11 players on the pitch, and Stevie is merely ONE of them.

Why would he miss the next match for a yellow card?  ???

Nevermind, earlier on the LFC.tv site a red card beside Gerrard's name, then i saw Gerrard still playing on the pitch on the stream so i just assumed he had accumulated yellow cards. My bad.

Ahh, okay.  If it's any consolation, it might have been a red card given by some refs--as Gerrard clearly led with his elbow.  It falls into the category of 'seen em given'.

Yup, I reckon there was a wee bit of intent about it as well.

Anyways surely it's time to get him a bit closer to Torres rather than wasting him at the back in a virtual holding midfield role?

I thought he looked much better when we went 4-4-2, mate.  With the 4-2-3-1 I think he's asked to sit a little deeper and stay there, to give the likes of Cole, Kuyt and Meireles space to operate.  With the 4-4-2 he and Meireles seemed to have a better understanding between them, with one moving up and the other hanging back as needed.  The 4-4-2 allows him to unleash that box to box style we know and love.  Still it can also leave us exposed.  I remember there was one instance where he tried a thread the needle pass that Cattermole cut out and skipped past Gerrard, who was marauding forward to get the return pass.  Cattermole was able to have a good run at our box before Carragher and a desperate Gerrard combined to crowd him out.

Class, pure class.

His influence on the game was amazing - sorely missed in the first half as the team got bogged down, completely changed teh game once he was on. And got three goals.

Mr Henry in the stand, learnt a lesson tonight, all well and good to have young, bright hopes but theres no substitute for sheer class.

Apparently nothing. :D

Only caught the highlights but the hunger was there and the class was there in equal measure.  Well in, Stevie.  :nod
