WBA VS LIVERPOOL - Sat 29th oct 2011 - 5.30pm ko

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby Kenny Kan » Fri Oct 28, 2011 1:37 pm

Well, it's the reunion with Roy, I just read this on Sky:

Hodgson was characteristically too much of a gentleman to revel in a win against a club which had made him unemployed just 12 weeks previously and instead the focus was upon a success which moved West Brom further clear of relegation

That piece of journalism really wound me up, I remember hairy hands & the sexist animal (Richard Keys & Andy Gray) speaking to Roy after a defeat (I think) when he was here. HH & SA asked while we languished near the bottom 'is that your title hopes over Roy' which followed with the two of them laughing and Roy joining in! I was shocked to see that, yet here we have Sky playing the 'gentleman card' about Roy again.

Well, I LOVE the way Kenny sticks up for his players, club and supporters, something Roy could never do as it would tarnish his 'gentlemen's' stereotype - he put his ego before the club in the end and I think that's why many never took to him. I gave him the chance but in the end he turned out to be the worse appointment since Graeme Sounnes.

Anyway, back to the game I hope we beat these to sustain our realistic 4th spot challenge. They were lucky against us last time, getting two penalties against us. We owe these and we owe Roy.

If we channel the characteristics we used against Stoke and play the football we can - and take our bl.oody chances we'll win this comprehensively, if not it'll be another frustrating day amongst the bread & butter.

What can I say, we're playing a team whos nickname is 'The Baggies' ... nuff said.

WBA are a strange team, I think they're what is called a YoYo team, up one season down the next and so on. We normally wouldn't struggle against them however I think they beat us last season if I remember correctly?

We also have this to look forward to...

Image

As for the team, they're currently flying in 12th place at the moment, 3 wins, 2 draws and 4 losses so far means if we beat them they could 16th by Monday. As for LFC, beat these and we swap places with Spurs who play QPR on Sunday.

Celebrity fans include Adrian Chiles and Frank Skinner...

...another reason to beat them.

oh and one last thing, one of JLS plays for them...

My prediction is WBA 1 - 3 LFC (Carroll 2, Bellamy)

Brilliant.

Think this will be a surprisingly hard game to be honest, West Brom are doing alright this season.  Good forwards too in Long and Odemwingie (although I think Long is out for this one).

If Suarez misses out through injury then I really hope Bellamy starts up front with Carroll.  We haven't seen them as a combination yet.  Dirk has looked even less like scoring than Carroll recently too imo.

If we have any asperations on finishing in the top 4 this season we need to be going to places like WBA and beating them comfortably. My prediction 0-3.
From Shankly to Brendan we follow our team, Rome to Istanbul we've all lived the dream. Our journey is long, our goal stays the same, to keep for our children the famous red name.

If that's the case we stand a better chance of keeping a clean sheet IMO.

He's fallen from being a must start to a liability so far this season, which is a real shame.

I think we'll start winning games now, I feel positive after the Stoke game. My formation:

                  Reina

  Johnson  Carra*  Agger   Enrique

Henderson  Gerrard  Lucas  Downing

              Carroll   Suarez

OR

                  Reina

             Back     Four

            Gerrard  Lucas

                 Adam

        Bellamy        Downing
                Suarez

*If Carra's injured like I and some of you have heard, then Skrtel or maybe I'd give Coates a chance. I can see a solid Coates-Agger partnership.

Call me crazy but Id bench Suarez for this one... We should have more than enough even away against this bunch. They dont score (or concede) much at home and if we can commit the bodies in the final third Im sure we can win easily.

Id go for:

                            Reina

Johnson      Carragher      Agger      Enrique

                Lucas              Adam

      Bellamy          Gerrard            Downing

                          Carroll

Suarez, Kuyt, Maxi, Spearing as options on the bench depending on how the game is going...
