LIVERPOOL v Tottenham Sun 29th Oct 4.30pm KO

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby ycsatbjywtbiastkamb » Sat Oct 26, 2019 11:28 pm

Another big game in a busy part of the season for us, not only have we got the rest of the CL qualifiers and a tough league cup tie against Arsenal coming up, over the next few weeks we've also got tricky looking league fixtures against Tottenham, City, Everton and Palace (away) looming up on the horizon as well.
Big 3 points these tomorrow, if the result doesn't go our way that 8 point lead that we had over City will be down to 3 already, Tottenham haven't been playing well, we are at home, pretty much a must win game imo especially off the back of that disappointing performance at Old Trafford.

:nod , Their form has been poor but the 5 they put past Red Star this week will have restored some of their confidence. It's a game we should win but the lads are gonna have to turn up for it.

Yeah, sometimes a big game against a big rival is exactly the type of thing a struggling side needs to get everyone pulling in the same direction, we saw it last week with United, their players have looked like they couldn't care less all season but as soon as we come rolling into town they start grafting their @rses off and chasing the ball around like Jack Russell terriers.
We are a big scalp these days, teams are up for it when they play us.

They've been in poor form, but as stated above, they'll raise their game against us. They'll also not want to lose another game in a row. We're playing them at Anfield though, and after drawing with the mancs we should see this one as a must win.

Play the full team and then rest everyone against Arsenal in the mickey mouse cup.

Pivotal game for us.

A must win for me (aren't they all) for the HUGE psychological advantage we get with an 8 point lead as opposed  to 3 points.

To go from an 8 to a 3 point lead in a little over a week will mean we are looking over our shoulders every single game and at the moment we don't have enough leaders/ mental strength on the pitch to cope with that IMO.

City will be favourites again with the bookies if we lose I'm pretty sure.

Doom and gloom over- we are good enough to win by 2 goals...  2-0 or a 3-1 will do nicely.

Spurs will raise their game, but they'll run out of puff soon enough and we'll all see why they're better known as Spuds.

I'm going for 4-1 to the mighty reds this afternoon  :buttrock

Why is Lovren starting? He's a liability against spurs and especially Kane.

Gomez is in even poorer form IMO, so we don't really have a choice.

Matip is injured.

Because Matip is out inured , Gomez is struggling this season and he is still a vastly expirienced CB

I was a bit apprehensive about this one, but I've just seen Lovren is starting at CB so I think i'll be fine now

In all seriousness, I expect us to come flying out of the blocks in this, giving them no chance to get into a rhythm.
