Liverpool Football Club - Games

This is such a massive game for us, a real old fashioned 6 pointer, if they win they open up a stretch on us which we may not close again, but if we win we are bang in the middle of a serious push for 4th

Sterling is back fit, Ibe is on fire, Mario finally hitting some form.....  with the exception of SG and Lucas we have a pretty much full strength squad to pick from, real competition for places

How is he to fit Coutinho, Ibe, Lallana, Sterling, Sturridge, Balotelli all into the team, very interesting

Spot on mate, they will want this just as badly as we do, hopefully we will have enough up front this time around to cause them some serious concern

Had we won against Everton I would have taken a draw from this one but now we need to win. I won't be surprised if we see a 0-0 though. It's going to be a difficult match with little chances IMO, so we need to make sure that we take ours. No more of that selfish stuff (I'm looking at you Daniel).

I think in similar ways to you, had we beat Everton (which we should have) and not thrown away a 2 goal home lead against Leicester we would be 4 points better off and level with the saints

I would start with Mario on instead of Lallana

There's some validity to that. I've really been a big advocate of Lallana since he arrived and I really hoped he would bring some snap and width to the team, but he often seems a little weak on the ball and hasn't quite lived up to potential. Ibe has been a great example of what I was (perhaps naively) hoping for.....finally we have some width in the squad. We need people who have a nose for the 6 yard box to get on the end of some of those crosses he's whipping in.

had we won all our games we'd be top of the league.

huge game though, this one. i win here and a draw between west ham and spurs will do just fine.

MASSIVE GAME

Southampton will see it that way as well so will they park the bus and take a draw or come out and risk defeat?

How did they play against the other top 4 sides, anyone know?

Come on Red Boys this game defines whether top 4 is on or not!

Got to admit i find it hard to believe we will win their...The Saints are a very organized ,pacy accurate passing team ,i'm not sure we have the air to compete for the full 90...

So in their last two home games Southampton have drawn with West Ham and lsot to Swansea but we can't compete with them, get a grip will you  :no

Massive game, three points here puts us in the mix big-time! I think we'll win it by one or two goals.

I think we'll start with either of Sturridge or Balo up front and keep our successful 3-4-3 formation. I expect Ibe to start also.

Last 17 since the Mancs: Won 11, drawn 5, lost 1 (Chelsea in the League Cup after extra time). Not too shabby.
