NEWCASTLE UNITED VS LIVERPOOL - Saturday 11th december 17.30pm ko

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Surely this is a no win situation for the Newcastle players.

They are still reeling from Hughton's sacking. If they go all out at us for a win, and beat us, they only justify the sacking of Hughton for Pardew. If they go out to prove a point to Ashley and lose, they move ever closer to relegation.

Another stats in our favour is that Pardew has not won in his first 6 games at any club he has been manager at.

i dont think it does though - they've beaten arsenal and chelsea already, that means Houghton already had the beating of top prem teams. - It would give pardew more grace with the fans (as would a Roy Hodgson win against utd and everton), but it doesn't add any weight to the justification of that sacking

It was a terrible sacking followed by an even worse appointment. How in the name of sanity does Pardew pull off a £500k (rumoured) five and a half year contract with his abysmal record. It beggars belief. The worlds gone mad.

Newcastle will be totally demotivated and we can benefit IMHO !!

i hope to see us keep the 4.4.2 tomorrow and not revert back to looking for a point or a snatched win.
we have been playing much better stuff lately and need to keep the momentum going and we should beat them easy.
onwards and upwards and 3,1 to us.:D

Think we could possibly see joe cole on the left and Kuyt joining Torres Upfront.

You might be right, Roy has used Kuyt up front a bit, and he has done alright there. Though, I would have expected to see Cole get a good run on Monday if that was in Roy's thinking.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it... Torres for Babel, maybe move Babel to RM to replace Kuyt... other than that I think I'd leave it as it is.

Reina, Johnson, Konchesky, Skrtel, Kyrgiakos, Meireles, Lucas, Kuyt, Maxi, Ngog, Torres. Subs: Jones, Kelly, Aurelio, Poulsen, Cole, Jovanovic, Babel.

same lineup against Tottenham, lets do this!

N'gog/Babel are much better options than Kuyt as partner for Torres.

Kuyt should be dropped on recent performances, hard work can only get you so far.

Prefer to see Cole on the bench. He is still recovering!

Come on Roy - more of the same - Nando dedicate the hat-trick to Leo!

agree, there's no point in rushing Cole back if we don't need to. He's a good player and will come good, once fit. I'm also glad to see that we're not rushing Gerrard back either.

3-1 to the reds  :buttrock

Newcastle are in a state. Away or not, you'd expect a win here. But with Roy, who the f*ck knows. Surely he can muster a rare away win here.
