Tottenham H. v LIVERPOOL Sat 11th Jan 5.30pm KO

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby ycsatbjywtbiastkamb » Thu Jan 09, 2020 10:01 am

We've had a decent run of fixtures over the past month or so but now we've got 3 tricky looking games to face on the bounce - Spurs (A), United (H) and Wolves (A).
Spurs aren't quite the same force they were say, 18 months ago and they are missing the likes of Kane, Sissoko etc but it's still going to be tough. Son, Ali etc are no mugs.

Moureen does not beat Klopp - not now. It'll come down to the managers this one, battle of the minds... Klopp will win it.

Won't be an easy game away from home but we're in excellent form and they've been poor lately. They've got some injury problems as well, while we've got most of our players back in training. It won't be easy, but we should be beating them IMO.

Apparently Fabinho is back in full training but it might be too soon for him to start. This is what I'd go for:

             Alisson

Trent    Gomez   van Dijk   Robo

              Hendo

         Lallana  Wijnaldum

   Salah                 Mane
             Firmino

We'll flatten them. 0-3 to the mighty reds

Fkg Maureeniho I hate him with a passion. I would love to stuff this lot in a way that would make them suffer! Personally I think the pressure starts here for LFC. We can’t afford any confidence shattering mess ups.

Maureen will try to spoil the party but his usual parking tactics.
I think we will win this though.

2-0 Redmen.

I wouldn't underestimate Mourinho, he has done a number on us more than once with his cagey tactical approach, he's done it with weakened sides as well, people forget but it was basically a Chelsea B team that cost us the title back in 2013/14 (the Gerrard slip game).
I agree with Fivecups, I think these next 3 games will go a long way to deciding the outcome of the title.

Go into the game with a positive mindset, play our football and we win.

Some of the homage being paid to Mourinho is ridiculous. Yes he is an anti-football kn-b when he comes up against quality but that is no reason to believe he and his side can "do a number" on us.

When else would you rather play Tottenham? They have 2 if not 3 of the main cogs in their setup out injured and a manager under pressure already with some average results of late.

No room to be complacent either but if we can't come up with a solution to the "low block" specialist then what the hell are we paying these professional footballers and our manager for? The easy games?

3-0 to us - no messing around allowed.

Buzzing for this one, cannot wait. Mourinho thrives on these games and will do anything he can to trip us up. That said, against Leicester and Sheffield we were approaching total football. I can't remember seeing performances where we have been so in control of the whole match, the team were seamless, fluid and full of confidence. We should win it but as someone once said 'It's a funny old game' and anything can happen, that's why we love it.

Line-up as expected, AOC in rather than Lallana which was the only discussion point. Spurs playing an unknown 20 year old in defence.

Tense start, chances at both ends. Spurs set up to defend (narrow back four with 2 midfielders dropping back if needed) but also with 3 strikers with quality on the ball for the counter.

Need to watch the Son break and need a bit of Salah magic to break down a typical Mourinho defence

Chance of the match for VVD. Then Gomez yellow. Virgil should have done better.
