I think Arsenal deserved it, we were flat and still seem not bothered.

Seems like that front lads forgot their shooting boots. Poor performance from us, let's hope we get into gear when EPL kicks off.

Being honest though if we don’t make a couple of signings I can’t see us adding a third unbelievable season to the last two. We look like a side that has peaked and is just starting to make its way down the other side of the hill. I love Bobby but it has to be said he’s not the same player he was 2 years ago.

Thought we were awful up front today. Honestly really poor stuff from the 3 front lads. Salah looked like a salad and firmino is getting far to comfortable putting in performances like that. His shooting is of a really poor standard.

Still it is only the shield but we left with the wrong colour medals because we looked half interested.

We need to do better when the league starts.

To be fair we were awful in pre season last year and lost this corresponding fixture to City but then went on to start the season like a house on fire but for me this is about more than just a flat pre season, imo we started to look a bit shaky just before the lockdown started last Feb/March and have never quite looked the same since.

For couple of years we've had huge targets and successfully got them. Now, it is time to maintain that success and create an era. I just hope the lads have that same hunger and drive this season.

We definitely needs few reinforcements, especially someone up top. The lads need more competition, like Yakka said some seem to comfortable giving avarage performances.

If things stay the same for too long it becomes stale.. That is our front 3 right now. No competition, lazy, lack of commitment, lost for ideas.

We've seen this in the past with the club and other clubs.. You need competition, you need to keep it exciting!!

Let's stop being tight, let's get the Thiago deal done.. And then let's get some serious competition for the front 3.

There is no competition for that front 3 for the last couple of years and it certainly wont change now. Brewster scored a brace against Salzburg and even though we struggled to break through them today he gets on to take a penalty which he then misses. He could have come on with ten minutes to go with a chance of breaking the deadlock. Even if he didn't he still would have been better warmed up for the penalty.

Midfield is not so bad and would be better if the likes of Ox and Shaq sort their shyte out. Would rather have seen Grujic starting today ahead of Milner though.

Very bad display from LFC, Arsenal has looked a complete team and can score at each attack, whereas, our forward apart from Mane was looking stale and predictable, too slow not fit.
For sure we need to buy more top players a top striker, should get back Suarez for at least for one season even on loan.

It is going to be a very tough season and might be even quite tricky!
