We have showed real character this game at least in the second half! If we only took half of our chances we could of got a draw or even won the game. The lesson our players have to learn is we must take our chances otherwise the other team are going to punish you. We need to reflect on this result and win Chelsea and not underestimate any team. We can still come back from this result and get through the group stages first but we must take our chances!

The game was lost in the 1st half.  Better in the 2nd half but too little too late.

Fiorentina deserved the 3pts.

Think Skrtel might have picked up a knock...
Floyd stepped left and threw the hook that caught Hatton flush under the chin. Finally, the British champ had arrived in that mythical place of which his fans speak: Hatton Wonderland.

Disappointing result but hopefully it will have little bearing on the rest of our season. We can afford to lose this one....... as long as we do better in the rest.

This season? Hell we don't offer anything for two seasons in dead ball situation. We hate corners, both defending and taking them. Rafa hates corner, to him it is not an advantage so he doesn't care. Why bother training how to score from corners when your best corner takers hardly able to hit pass the first defenders.

Well that was good wasnt it?

Carra & Skrtel lost the plot once again.

Lucas was awful, doesnt deserve a place on the bench never mind the starting 11, but we had no choice with no masch.

The Gerrard behind Torres show has come to an end with Alonso spraying passes to them both with his departure.

Oh well dust yerselves down redmen Chelsea on sunday.

Luckly enough we havent been playing that well in the league and we have scored more goals than anyone, cannot wait till we get going, and Agger, Aqualini are in the team it will be like having two new players that are very attack minded.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Thank God I didn't sit through it by the sound of it. Look on the bright side, Rafa has his absolutely ridiculous moments, some of which you get away with and some of which you don't, we didn't tonight but it doesn't really matter.

The positives are it confirmed by all accounts that Aurelio is a left back not a central midfielder, so at least we can put that one firmly to bed. It also confirmed probably once and for all that until Aquilani comes back, and assuming he is quite a good player, Gerrard must play in central midfield. There he can play alongside/carry Lucas and all will be good with the World again.

Not for the first time though a good run and rapidly building confidence is damaged by utter nonsense from a selectotial point of view. What was the point of it, does anyone know? We still played Gerrard, we still played Torres, so what did we gain by fecking around with the team and formation? Ridiculous, bizarre and silly but fortunately no long term damage.

Sabre wrote:By not subbing Aurelio and putting him in his natural position, I think Rafa has implicitly admitted he got that one wrong tonight. The second half is being decent, but a football match are 90 mins and the first half was awful.

I still think a genius touch of our world class players could fix it if we get a goal right now!

The second half for Forentina is set up purely to defend their lead.
It is not easy to beat an Italian defense... unless you are good but...........  (you can fill in the blanks yourself)
