still england's best player by a country mile, rooney included. this tournament has proved that.

it's also proved why he should be playing wide right for us. he's made three goals from the right due to world class delivery. despite not playing there he's also england's best winger as he can actually beat a man with skill (unlike young, milner and walcott).

totally agree, Gerrard is still a superb player and (despite his injuries) hasn't lost much in the way of pace.

Agree 100%.  Gerrard needs to be played on the right.  He's quicker than most realize, and is possibly the most dangerous person in the league when it comes to sticking a ball into the box.

yes i know he's played well in a central midfield two in this tournament but international football is a different kettle of fish to club football. it's a lot slower for a start and even then, gerrard and parker have been overrun for large proportions of some games. those two have still by and large sat a lot deeper than they ever would for their club sides. i still don't want gerrard playing central in a 4-4-2 for us for now, although down the line i could see him making an excellent deep lying playmaker.

will be interesting to see how rodgers uses him this season.

Felt so sorry for SG last night having that shower of sh'ite around him. He deserves better but sadly fu'ck all will change because Hodgson has already made england the victims. Instead of analysing why he fu'cked up by playing Milner, Welbeck, Young and the "world class" Rooney, he is already making excuses and not taking any responsibility.
I would love Gerrard to retire and tell the fa to shove it but he wont because hes too loyal and patriotic. He needs better players and a good manager behind him but this wont happen, so things will stay the same

He was dead on his feet last night with cramp and suffering. Needs a big rest now so don't expect him to be playing much until mid August at least.

Gerrard had a great tournament, he was England's stand-out performer and I do feel for him.

Hart had a good tournament to. I thought Terry was okay (Italy apart), and Johnson had a good tournament. Other than that, the rest of the team were s.*i*e and ARE sub-standard players.
