Barry has the distinct advantage of experience in this league, but I think he is a limited player. He's a good Premiership player, can get away with it (just about) at International level, but I reckon we need Aquilani more in the formation we play - especially next to such a defensive and limiting attacking option such as Mascherano.

Would we have got Barry for £12m? Probably not. For Aquilani at £20m vs Barry at £18m I would take Aquilani (just)

I think "is Barry better than Lucas?" would be a more interesting discussion, not saying it would be close or which way it would go, just reckon it's a more interesting comparison than trying to compare Barry with Aquilani

Personally I would love to see Martin O'Neill given the reins at Liverpool, he deserves a crack at a big club and why could it not be at Anfield. It is most likely as this Premier League football blog states that he will replace Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, but would like us to sneak in under their noses and steal him away earlier.

Lets not get to carried away with last nights result.....it could be another "false dawn"?.....and there have been plenty of them over the last couple of seasons.......Rafa's flops have a habbit of taking one step forward.....and two steps backward.....we have seen it happen all to often....until consistancy is established, lets be very cautious.....Rafa has bought himself a little bit of breathing space.....but the pressure is still very much on him, time and results will tell the truth....I still think he will go, if not soon then by the end of this season. :nod

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1ScT3xjzQs thank god there are still some real supporters out there unlike so many so many members on this site. Its fans like thoses on this vid that makes LFC great and seperates us from the likes of manc glory hunters.

It's funny. The 'pro Rafa' lot are so quick to say it was all down to Rafa that we won last night. But whenever we lose they will not lay any blame at his feet!

It was a great result last night for all fans, but it won't change anyones mind on whether they want him to stay or go.

That's not what REDTILLDEAD is saying and you know it.

Credit for what, exactly? Beating Spurs 2-0? at home? Let me tell you something - we should be beating Spurs 2-0 at home every time.

REDTILLDEAD has history on his side, you only have hope on yours.

Absolutely brilliant Nan ,I was at the game last night and it was like a European game ,the  atmosphere was bristling with all the passion its been sadly lacking of late ,and the support for Rafa was sang with conviction from fans who will eventually call the shots when it comes to major decisions .....

I think the response of the fans in that video only goes to show the depth of feeling against the media and their blatant attempts to brainwash the more susceptible ....

Good post Nan

cheers for posting that nanny, thats what its all about and that is what it means to support this club, no one is saying you have to agree with everything that goes on within the club or out on the pitch, its about doing your bit to try and turn it around, it might not work out and things might change but it wont be for the lack of trying.

I went last night too and I'd echo everything you have just said redbbeergoggles.I actually think the crowd stunned some of the spurs players and they couldn't handle the awe of the occasion.

Also Rafa's name was chanted with more passion than I have ever heard and it was from EVERYONE.it must be the minority on here that don't deem him good enough.

I only understood and agreed half of what they said, and in the part I didn't understand, they're probably right too.
