I agree With Ronnie Whelan - sack him now and give Dalglish 5 months to inspire the players until the end of the season and take it from there.

I imagine the players can't stand Benitez, he is annoying and unlikeable and I don't think any player feels any personal loyalty to him.

Since the first season, 1 FA cup on penalties against WEst Ham is his only achievement.

That and not getting relegated (such are the pro benitez standards)

Don't assume I'm pro or anti rafa when I reply to this part of your post but when quoting achiements don't leave holes like European cup 2005 and the other 2 cup finals I went too under Mr Benitez's stewardship....didn't get to see the Super Cup Final so I just sat and watched on TV like you no doubt.

We have avoided relegation for a number of years now so I and many like me , have not used this as a standard to proclaim any manager.....so your little aside is another futile dig at some fans who are showing support for our manager.

After what he had been through the previous few seasons it was understandable.

He's basicallly saying the club was a slipping, below par club compared to the likes of Barca, Madrid, United, etc etc, and he's brought us right back up there. It's like playing a game of Fifa where Liverpool would only be rated 3 stars out of five and now they are a 4.5 stars out of five. Certainly with our record in Europe in recent years, who can argue with him? Oh, that's right, you and the rest of the balloons.
