RYAN BABEL to join Hoffenheim

I think he would be better of suited to Italian football. He is at times careless on the ball so the slow pace over there should help his game.

Id love David Villa here but I think he will be way out of our price range, unless Rafa convinces him to come here and only here. Hi is Valencia's most prized asset so they will be looking to maximise any sale for him.

Babel makes me cringe every time he plays…he’s like the b@stard love child of Diouf and Cisse combined. Awful technique, horrendous awareness and ‘hit and hope’ passing. Never have I seen a LFC player run the ball out of play and fall over his own feet so many times. In fact, I remember one match where he tried to do some trickery and then run…only to go into a sprint and leave the ball behind and lose possession.

His attitude stinks too and he comes across as a Diouf type character. In his interviews he gives the impression that he's class and he doesn't need to try any harder. :no

His refusal to track back and defend has not helped his cause either.

Easily Rafa’s worst signing and is right up there with Liverpool’s big money flops.

If we get 4 million back I’d be surprised, he’s rubbish!

Not a big fan of Babel myself, he can do some amazing :censored: once in a blue moon but 99.9% of the time he is shocking.

He has got a lot of ability, he just seems to lack intelligence to use it and oh my god he is so predictable.

He also seems like he has a bit of an ego after listening to his rap videos and interviews and wouldnt be sad if he left.

Riera, although often has his off days, is much more useful and on his day looks like one of the best left wingers in the league.

He reiterated his unhappiness about not starting enough recently I believe.  There's an article about it but dunno if they're just bringing up old news.

I'm amazed nobody else has pointed out the contrast between Babel and are other foreign "Stars", to a man the Liverpool squad have acted impecably whilst peolple have greived 20 years on from hillsborough, with Nando even remembering to dedicate his goal against Blackburn, whilst all this self centre :censored: can concern himself about is him and him alone. If the truth be told he has never fitted in and like previously stated he acts like a moody french player (ie: Cisse or although not French Diouf) not bothering to emerse himself in any of the traditions of Liverpool because he appears to think he is better than his is. It is obvious Rafa asks him to improve certain aspects of his game and he has one training session and says job done ,can I play now, the problem is Rafa can see through this and knows who is really putting in effort and plays them (Reira).
One footed, Lazy, ignores defensive responsabilities and runs down blind alleys, simply overrated

I might be wrong but I don't think any player has survived the sack after moaning about team chances twice.

does that mean Agger is out aswell ?

wouldnt mind both Agger AND Skrtel gone if we can keep Hyypia and Carra and add a top centerback with the money.. maybe bring in a kid from the reserves as backup...

and Babelll... he can fck off for all i care ... i think he has huge potential but i dont think this club at this time is the place to realize it... good luck and maybe in a few years after you win a grammy you moany fcker... best chance of winning anything with the control and vision he got...

So you'd keep our two older CBs and get rid of the two younger ones?

35 Hyypia (DOB 7/10/73)
31 Carragher (DOB 28/1/78)
24 Agger (DOB 12/12/84)
24 Skrtel (DOB 15/12/84)

CBs like Vidic, Carra, Carvalho, Rio, Terry and a host of others may be better CBs than Agger and Skrtel, but they are also at least three years older and therefore more experienced. Even Lescott and Jagielka are 26, there may well not be better CBs younger than those two or indeed under 26.

I was quite astonished looking at the ages of CBs in the Premiership, there aren't too many younger - Wheater is about the only one younger worth mentioning, Hoof is older, Toure, Upson, Gallas, Woodgate, Distin, Collins, Riggott, Haangeland, Samba, Nelsen.........................

Point is, we might find better CBs but I doubt we'll find many who are significantly better who aren't overpriced or over the hill. If this were football management on your PC or xbox then you'd keep one of them at least, probably seek out your other "kid from the reserves" (or pinch someone else's) and be flogging the two oldest - especially since their transfer fees won't get any higher, we could sell Agger and Skrtel for say £10m each and find they're worth £15m in a year or two. NONE of our current CBs is faultless, Agger has a lot more about him than just a CB and if his game improves then he has the potential to be the best CB in the world. He isn't going to become that sitting on our bench though......................
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

yea i'd keep our older and better centerbacks... Skrtel i expect to become a much better centerback in a few years... just needs experience and good coaching.. Agger im not so sure... Hes a great footballer... not such a great centerback though... im talking about next season here so the way i see it if we can manage to get Raul Albiol or any other centerback whos better than Skrtel and Agger then they both go way down my personal pecking order... Carra and Hyypia are still the best centerbacks we got and Skrtel and Agger have made numerous mistakes yet and again but everyone seems to be fine with that just because they'r still young... well.. if ya look at the other top 4 you'll see they all have better centerbacks than we do.. old or not is not the issue...

agree that it might cost too much to bring in a quality centerback but the way i see it Agger (for one) wouldnt be sold for peanuts either if we decide to let him go...

No doubt the boy has quality, but unfortunately he doesnt seem to have the passion and commitment to match.

I think it sometimes has to do with the manager , i hope he's sold to arsenal if he does leave , i want to see if wenger can transform his game and if he does , lots of posters will be feeling silly . The lad's got bag loads of talent just needs someone to get the best out of him
