I'm not going to deny that 'the sky isn't blue' but by the same token I'm not going to 'form a lynch mob', our football so far is not as great as it can be.
Firstly, anyone who thinks Roy or any other manager for that matter is going to come in and turn a morale depleted squad around over night may as well stop reading here. If they are expecting miracles and what not perhaps they should read a nice little narrative staring Tinkerbell. With that said we are four domestic games into the domestic season and I'll be honest and say that I'm not keen on us just sitting back off of the opposition like we have been. We do resemble an average outfit when we allow other teams like Brum and WBA to play. Yet baring in mind Roy has not had ample time in pre-season, brought in no new coaching staff and limited funs etc it's more than likely going to take him a little while longer to turn the side around. I cannot believe Roy will just settle for what we're seeing at the present point in time, IMHO he's going back to what he sees as 'back to basics'. I said after our win against WBA our defence looks to be more susceptable to conceeding goals, there are gaps there that weren't there before. BUT Roy has to balance defence and attack in that we can't optimise our attack to the detriment of our defence and visa-ersa, he needs to balance that right now. We've lacked creativity for x-amount of years and the signings he's made look to reform these insufficientcies.
I'm not convinced on Lucas, N'gog, Poulsen and Jovo while Cole and Meireles do look/are that more 'special'. I'm hopeful Konchesky will be our LB version of Steve Finnan at RB.
The team and the manager specifically need time to transition and I will be defending him simply because I believe a vast bulk of our support cannot wait for him to fail, I'm backing the underdog here to prove he's upto the job. Lets not forget it 'took Fergie seven years to win ought with Manc United' and yet here we are 4 games into the season and like it or not the lynch mob are forming.
Football is a relatively simple game and Roy knows it
