League form isn't always repeated in Europe, just look at us in 2005 !!!!! :O

PSV may well be missing players and not doing well in their League but I'd take a draw now.

Bellamy is a must play for me and will, if played cause them all sorts of problems. The obvious choice to partner him would be Crouch after Saturday's performance.

I suspect it was in Rafa's mind on Saturday morning to start with Kuyt and Bellamy tomorrow for PSV but maybe rethinking his original decision now !! :D

PSV will obviously know all about Kuyt and he's been poor since the new year. Crouch's height and nifty footwork combined with Bellamy's pace and strength should put the sh#ts up them.

His footwork to score his third goal on Saturday was incredible...even more so for such a tall man. If that was a Brasilain or similar doing that, all the soccer journalists would be creaming themselves now.

I too hope Crouchy starts but I think playing him with Kuyt wouldn't be so much of a bad option. Just like Sissoko used his La Liga experience to dominate the midfield against Barcelona, I think Kuyt can do the same. His striking experience in the Dutch Eridivisie surely gives him an advantage especially as he would of played against the PSV defenders on more than one occasion. I think these games are the games where you need to play experienced players.

Im worried that Zenden will start because of this very reason

Is David Pleat commentating tomorrow?

If so, I can't wait to hear him pronounce the names of the PSV players.

I agree with that. Gonzalez is not experienced or good enough yet to start such an important tie. So has to be Riise coming in. Then again, we have no idea what frame of mind he is in now with his bankruptcy proceedings going on.

And being the away team, it has been our tendency to sit back and go for the fast counter attacks, so Bellamy has to start. Wonder if Rafa would be bold enough though to try a 4-3-3 again with all 3 strikers starting? I doubt it though.

As Dalglish points out, I think it would be foolish to be too overconfident, just because they are missing some players and not playing at their best in the league currently. That being said we really should be able to get a good result here. One of the most important things is - of course - for us to score at least one goal away from home. A 1-1 draw wouldn't be a bad result, whereas a 0-0 draw could be a potentially tricky score (still we should be able to advance, but you never know, a goal against us at Anfield could make it very difficult). I like the idea mentioned by St. Mike to play Crouch and Bellamy up front, as they are two completely different players who should complement each other very well and create all sorts of problems for the PSV defence. A good lineup would IMO be:

                                                       Reina
Finnan (or Arbeloa?)     Carra                 Agger             Aurelio
          Stevie G                     Mascherano        Alonso            Riise
                                          Bellamy              Crouch

If Bellamy isn't fit enough due to his knock, I would install Pennant on the right wing and have Gerrard roaming around behind Croch, just like against Arsenal in the weekend (well, it worked pretty well there, didn't it :D )

PSV is on the edge of a breakdown. They probably will loose the league championship. I'd say it will be an easy 0-4

Hope so..................

Just go for it tonight boys. The more away goals the better. I expect us to play very positively tonight as I am sure the players will want to put this to bed before the return leg the following week. I'm not sure whether Bellamy will play a full part due to his ribs. I'm expecting an attacking line-up tonight though. No doubt.
