Anybody notice this?  Carling cup we play away to Brighton then away to Stoke... FA cup we play home to Brighton then home to Stoke... It's like we made it to the final of the CC, and now they're trying to make it easier for us to make it to the final of the FA cup!  Haha just joking, they never try to make it easier for us.

But it's a bit strange that we could potentially knock the same teams out of both cups.

Yes it is strange when you put it that way, but still just a coincidence. :D

14-01-12 Liverpool 0 - 0 Stoke City
26-10-11 Stoke City 1 - 2 Liverpool
10-09-11 Stoke City 1 - 0 Liverpool
02-02-11 Liverpool 2 - 0 Stoke City
13-11-10 Stoke City 2 - 0 Liverpool
16-01-10 Stoke City 1 - 1 Liverpool

In the past 6 games, we have beaten Stoke twice, drawn twice and lost twice.
Anyone expecting an easy ride to the next round is deluded. I recall the last time we played Stoke, we had so much possession and so many shots, but it came to nothing.

To be honest out of the clubs left (or who I'm expecting to be left) I would have only felt we had an easier draw if we pulled Leicester or maybe Bolton.

Chelsea and I'm assuming spurs would be tough fixtures.
Everton and Stoke are clubs that are hard to beat.
Sunderland is one of the hottest clubs in the prem right now.

No doubt it's a tough draw, but if we win there will be some challenging clubs left to face.  Out of all of them I'd presume would be in the next round, the best for us would probably be chelsea because we alway seem to beat them, especially in cups.

We deserve a bit of luck with the FA cup draw as the League cup draw has been as hard as it could have been. Stoke wont be easy as they will graft away, but we are at home and do well in the cups, plus they have faltered somewhat.

Wembley twice (hopefully three times) in one season would be very nice indeed.

Have you not forgotten that we could potentially get Chelsea in the semis, completing the pattern (Brighton, Stoke, Chelsea.??).

really wanted Tottenham or Chelsea at home but Stoke isnt that bad a draw either. Most important thing at this stage imo is being at home and that gives us a huge advantage.
