Id be happy with the same scores as in the group stages. 0-0 at psv and 2-0 at anfield. If we do go through then whoever our opponents are in the semis it will be a cracking game. Please let it be a Liverpool v Man utd Final

That would obviously see us through, but going to Anfield with a 0-0 scoreline would not be comfortable at all. An away goal (or two) is priority. If we can go to the Nou Camp and score two there and win that game, then we should be looking to do the same to anyone else we encounter. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm starting to get a little bit :censored:

off with these nervous second legs or last 10 minutes that the Reds have been putting us through. I'd like to just win one big one comfortably in the knowledge that I can sit and watch the whole game without feeling the need to leave the room for the last 5 or 10.

i think we'll get a 1-1 draw at PSV, and we'll beat them 3-1 at Anfield with PSV getting the first goal to make things jittery.

Alex is a HUGE blow to them, great in defence and a big threat for there set pieces.

PSV are no mugs, and they have a wiley sod as manager but on paper we have a significantly better squad; and have home advantage in the second leg.
No CL game at this stage is easy but I expect us to get past PSV, providing we get a reasonable rub with the ref and lady luck - as well as our front players converting the chances we WILL make in both games; we are specialists now at that first away leg and I anticipate taking another lead back to Anfield.
I am starting to get really excited now; we have the players and the manager well capable enough to take us to the final and championship number 6.
A final against Manure would possibly be the sweetest of all our titles; especially if we put the mockers on a treble season for them!!

Though I do believe that we will get through, it may not be a very easy play. PVS can not be underestimated and we must not pride ourselves on the victory in the group matches. Glad that Rafael Benitez keeps calm and hopefully he will lead LFC to make good preparations and progress on.
And I really really want to see us score and win in the Anfield in the second leg! That would add much sweeter flavour to our happiness to march into the semi-final.
Then hope we meet Valencia instead of Chelsea there.

valencia are on top of there game at the moment and chavski are grinding results out by the skin of there teeth

valencia 3-1 agg win imho, i would rather knock chavski out again just to rub salt in to maureen then go and beat manure in the final

No doubt everyone will be saying that we were "lucky" scouse barstaadds to once again beat the Euro champions the english champions the dutch champions the spanish champions. I think we can go all the way... people have seen how we outclassed Barca. PSV, Chelski and then Manure... thats a frightening but exciting prospect.

SSN just reporting that Alex is being sent to Brazil for intensive treatment and they reckon he will return from there 24 hours before our game and perhaps fit to play. Crazy

Good I say. He'll be off after 10mins and screwed for his summer move to Chelsea.

According to Dutch newspapers and TV channels Alex will not play the two matches against Liverpool. And that's good news because it's the best defender in the Dutch league!

Dutch league might not be so interesting as the PL but quality is there.

Just assuming (hypothetically of course) that we got through, and Valencia did as well, would Morientes get a good welcome back at Anfield? I know he would from me, even though he never did the business for us. I wanted to start a new thread for this but I didn't think it was worth it, and as it's a hypothetical CL question, I felt it belonged in the CL thread. Sorry for hijacking this. But honestly - would you/will you clap Nando when/if he returns?

Any player who did his best to serve the club would get a warm reception. Nando didnt work out but they've been plenty of lads who fall into that catigory recently (thanks Ged...). The school boys might whistle but the real fans would welcome him back in the traditional way.

Concerning the game, I'd go for the kill in the first game, why gamble on the return.

all ex players generally get a warm welcome at anfield (except for diouf), we are not some small club who needs to boo ex players to be fair.
