Premier league home game campaign - Please lets improve the atmosphere....

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby RAFABENITEZ » Sun Nov 20, 2005 10:17 pm

Right, im gonna get straight into this. The atmosphere at Anfield during Premier league matches is getting worse by the game. I don’t get to the CL games so I never get the same buzz anymore because the atmosphere at Anfield, as ive said, is pis* poor in the PL games. When the big games come along, we get a decent atmosphere going for 20mins. If nothing happens, it dies. Don't give me any of that bolloc*s about they have to do their part on the pitch, we should be singing all match. The only nights I remember this are the Roma and Barcelona games in Europe. If we kept the atmosphere going, we would probably get a better performance from the team, I AM CONVINCED OF THIS. On Saturday I was in the Annie road end, lower, 20 seats from Pompey fans. The atmosphere was awful, not one real crowd chant, it was embarrassing. And also, Y.N.W.A there was roughly 30% of the people in Anfield holding up their scarves - this is not good enough!!!! I understand that not everyone has a scraf (although you should) but if you do, get it n te air at the next home game!! Celtic, who steal our song, usually have more like 80% scarves up and it looks great, it really must have an effect on both sets of players. I know we are better fans than them - when it counts most ie BIG GAMES. Remember Celtic at home? it should be like that every week, how fuc*ing hard can it be to hold a scarf up and sing? I think we also need to do away with the increasing number of people singing EAS-EH and the annoying clap that goes with it. that’s for the Wigan’s of this world, not the famous kopites. So, if any of you reading take part in the easy can, please stop. I understand that not everyone reading this is a complete loon, but some people need telling and is time we raised the roof at Anfield more!!!!

*Raise your scarf during Y.N.W.A
* keep the songs going all game, Plenty of lads try and get songs started but we all need to take the lead!!
*KFS!!!
*Stop the Eas-eh chant!!!
* reintroduce the old songs - red and white kop, reds are coming up the hill, Scouser Tommy should be sang more as well!
*Everyone join in with Y.N.W.A
*stop clapping during Y.N.W.A
*Stop leaving the ground early, even at 1-4 down to Shitski
*Bring your scarf no matter what!!
*And again RAISE THAT SCARVE DURING Y.N.W.A!!!!
*REDS ON THE KOP - YOU HAVE THE BEST SEATS IN THE HOUSE - SING SING SING!!!!!!

When you walk through a storm,
Hold your head up high,
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm,
There's a golden sky,
And the sweet silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Though your dreams be tossed and blown..
Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart,
And you'll never walk alone.......
You'll never walk alone.

Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.        BILL SHANKLY

The atmosphere is a bit quiet these days, against the 'big teams' and on European nights it loud but the lesser teams it's poor. :(

Yeah, deffo fuck that Soccer AM 'Easy' chant off.  It's funny when the wrestler does it, it makes me sick when I hear our fans doing it though.  It happened on Saturday when Morientes scored, I was in the Upper Centenary, although to be fair, the Portsmouth fans started it.

Guys, I would kill to be able to attend just one game in my life at Anfield. However, I don't have enough money. I want to be able to hear those chants when I watch it on satellite. Do the international fans proud.

If I got to attend one game I could die a happy man, plus I WOULD NOT stop singing.

I agree that the atmosphere on Saturday was particularly poor. Infact at one stage I thought I heard the Annie road end outsinging the kop (I think it was after the second goal went in).

I agree, i don't get to go much these days, but when i was a student i used to try & get to about 10 to 15 games a season from Brum.  Even though Souness was in charge those days i thought the atmosphere was a lot better even then.

i always raise my scarf... ack.

here's a few songs for ye unloyal liverpools

He is the music man,
He comes from sunny spain ,
and he can play,
what is his name,
Xabi Alonso

Your just to good to be true
can't take the ball off you
You've got that heavenly touch like when souness passed to Rush
when were all :censored: in the bars we thank God that your ours your just to good to be true can't take the ball off you

Chours d,d,d,d,d,d,d,d,d,oh Stevie Gerrard na na na
oh Stevie Gerrard

On a Saturday afternoon
We support a team called Liverpool
And we sing until we drop
In a Red and White Spion Kop
We all live in a red and white Kop
A red and white Kop
A red and white Kop
We all live in a red and white Kop
A red and white Kop
A red and white Kop
In a town where I was born
Lived a man who sailed the seas
And he told me of his pride
They were a famous football team
So we trailed to Anfield Road,
Singing songs of victory
And there we found the holy ground,
Of our hero Bill Shankly
We all live in ......

sing proudly my boys sing proudly
You'll never walk alone in liverpool, but you will in everton

The atmosphere on saturday was pretty awful again, only started singin after an hour, but with success you have to except these things.
Newcomers are welcome but they should learn the songs and not just that feckin stupid Easah, Easah soccer am bollox. Its embarressing.
I heard there was 150 Borussia Munchen Gladbach fans there on saturday all got tickets but didnt bother going to the game they just stayed in the Albert all day singin German songs.
A few scousers I know where not to happy about it.

I saw on the box that there were a few empty seats at Centenary Stand near the pitch when Robbie Keane missed the sitter, although this may have been because a number of fans were still not back from half time.

150 Germans coming the whole way over and not bothering to go the game?  :no

Yer they should have been sittin in the Centenary Stand JBG.
Theyve been coming over since we had a good fan relationship since we played them years ago, and in Germany its winter break now.
So they come over round this time, but it only used to be 30 or so, now they have hangers on just coming over for a p.iss up.
They had  all the BMG clothes on, where very insulting to all the Liverpool fans in the pubs and where outsingin them with BMG songs.
How can the club give 150 tickets to a set of BMG fans when we arnt even playing them? And to make it worse they didnt even bother goin the game ???
