Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Ok, the marks out of 10 is too many words.. so whos everyones MOM?

im going for Alonso. He looks land plays like a true scouse and anynoe who says that the 'foreign players' dont get what the derby means is an idiot. He controlled the 2nd half and showed so much heart.

anyone else got a view?

My oppinion is that Alonso would not have got the freedom if it wasn't for momo. He let Alonso control the game by his constant running and breakup play. Id give him MOM closely followed by xabi

Alonso for me too, although I thought Crouch was excellent today with some awesome skill. As a whole, the team dug in and worked well and hard for each other, before Everton got a man sent off it looked like we had the extra man, we made an on form team look normal with one less man.

As for Gerrard, stupid is all I can say, although I thought his initial booking was f*cking hidious and extemely harsh...

Wouldn't mind if either alonso or sissoko gets it...

Actually the whole team deserves the M-O-M. They dug in deep and performed superbly when we went down to 10 men.

So the team deserves the MEN-of-Match award...

Sissoko for me.........He held the midfield together after Stevie went........

I agree that Alonso played well second half, but first half i thought he was a passenger.......

man of the match: momo sissoko just edged alonso.

pepe reina    6
steve finnan  7
jamie carragher 7
sami hyypia 7
j.a riise  6
steve gerrard (n/a) useful width until......
xabi alonso 8
momo sissoko 8
harry kewell 7
luis garcia 7
peter crouch 7

poor first half, much improved second 45.

reina looked a little flustered at times though the defence was solid enough.

in midfield alonso controlled the attack. but it was sissoko that chased everything and made so many balls available for the excellent alonso's passing.that made all the difference.

im beginning to come round to the idea that, gerrard out wide actually has improved things immensely. but, only when sissoko plays. (despite the red card)
before momo's injury it worked and it has continued to do so.

up front crouch held it up well, without too much credit. and luis garcia sniffed the scraps out. AND used most of his possession well. at times back to his best.

overall much better performance second half and even without the OG i still believe we would have won.
everton offered little. even when they had the opportunity to press.

in summary 7 out of 10. with a great big  :;):

Who's more? Alonso. Sissoko have a great game but since gerrad being red-carded, its alonso came out to control our side. It makes me remember our 10-man away game versus fulham last year. Alonso, what a maestro. Cheers~

To be honest im between Xabi and Garcia. Xabi controlled the midfield but garcia had a great game un front, plus a great goal. Then again, Alonso pretty much controlled the game so I'll go for him :p . Garcia has improved his game a lot in the last couple of weeks. Hope he gets a fair run as a suporting striker.
