Everton's "cup final" approaches - Will we beat everton

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Dalglish » Fri Dec 10, 2004 12:49 am

Well here we are again approaching one of Everton's 2 Cup Finals per season when they get the chance to put one over their bigger Brother on Merseyside  :D

Last season saw an easy win for us at "Woodison" (and if you don't know what that refers to you obviously have never sat in the Away end there  ??? ) and stalemate at Anfield.

For the record I'm going for a Liverpool win. Nothing to do with believing Everton won't be a difficult opposition and fired up (they always are) but because despite Everton's lofty position in the Prem they get far too emotionally involved with this fixture and often get turned over as a result  :D

Will We Win? Yes. Looking forward to a great game. I am praying that we play like we did against Arsenal and Olympiakos with effort, heart and of course intelligence.

You've been to "Splinterland" as well I see  :D

Next time one of those faceless blokes in a crappy suit stops me in the street and asks "Had an accident in the last 3 years" I'm going to say "Yes, suffered multiple splinters in the buttock's area at Woodison park "  :D

He never goes , prefers to shout from afar so to speak ??? Plus he is always pleading pverty being a student, he wil however be getting "SO" excited now thinking about the "Cup Final" on Saturday. He'll arrange to meet his mate sin the pub and complain about not being able to geta  ticket when he had no intention of trying and then sit in the corner of the pub drinking "Bitter" and coming out with comments like " We don't need Red ******.e helping us out with a new ground" and "they stole the  first ground we had anyway" YAWN YAWN YAWN :D

Everton's "cup-final" is usually the last day of the season when they play their b*llocks off to avoid relegation :D

I think it will be a sh*te game but we'll beat them cos we will out-battle them and clearly have more class   1-0 to the might reds

Can't allow sentiment to get in the way of the prediction league  :D

I've gone for 1-1 but will of course be delighted to be proved wrong.

Can't get a ticket so hold the tweezers for me til next season  ???

Guys and gals,
Everton have become a very hardworking lot who are hard to score against with an energetic midfield - difficut to break down. David Moyes has done wonders this season.

I don't think they will be such an easy opposition if you factor in their derby desire to do better than Liverpool.

We have to tighten the defence as it has been very prone to miss marking potential threats at set peices. I hope we win.

I think we'll win 2-1. But I am rather concerned about our marking of Ferguson at set pieces.
