Alonso or Sissoko.

Both had brilliant games.

Special praise for Garcia and Kewell for scoring beautiful goals.

Crouch had one of his best games.

alonso just over garcia. Momo good second half. Kewell deserves credit cos he got stuck in aswell.

But alonso was a general today led by example never let a pass go astray and bossed cahill and arteta. His set pieces were unbelievable, deserved a goal but it didnt matter cos he showed everything u need in a modern day footballer.

Muy bien gracias por favor.

erm i would say that alonso and sissoko had great games but nobody has mentioned the rock of a scouse at the back. jamie Carragher. He was yet again immense today. I will take back the critism i gave garcia last month because he was also immense today. good all round was gonna go but for the stupid rule about fan card holders and having to go to newcastle and wigan games.

Id say that people are right with saying Alonso

He worked hard today and most of his crosses were superb! :)

Steve Gerrard Gerrard,
He'll pass the ball 40 yards,
He's quick and he's f*cking hard,
Steve Gerrard Gerrard.

MOM for me was Alonso this was possibly close to his best game for us as he totally dominated the midfield.
But was able to do this and shine today due to the unsung hero of Momo.
Good to have Momo back but

MOM Alonso :buttrock

Alonso for me.
And I agree with that person that said after gerrards sending off with out Alonso I think we might have struggled.
All players pulled together to prove we are just one unit. No one man bands today.
Good game good result.
Shame the referee was a compleat tossa..

Guys...doesn't Neville gets a special mention because he planted a firm header off Xabi Alonso's corner. The header was so good that the commentator on ESPN first shouted "brilliant goal!" and then only realised that it was an own goal!

im going for Alonso. He looks land plays like a true scouse and anynoe who says that the 'foreign players' dont get what the derby means is an idiot. He controlled the 2nd half and showed so much heart.

anyone else got a view?

:D lol, I thought this thread was started by some American geek looking for his 'MOM' following the Everton game  :D

men of the match .. sissoko and alonso  :nod
