Of course there are better defenders in England, where did I say there aren't? But it's certainly not half of them. If you think that the Smalings and the Evans' and the Koscielnys of this league are better players (who are starts in big clubs mind you) then you definitely have a need to constantly undervalue our own players.

And I said that he should be a back-up. How is that putting him on a pedestal?

Koscielny is a far better centre half than Skrtel. His positional play and technical ability are far superior and his reading of the game is very good.

Smalling is average at best, didn't say Smalling was better, never would. Evan's probably about equal.

As I said, at every side, there is at least one better or equal. In alot of cases its two players and to be quite honest it shows massive naivety that you can't see that.

A players ability doesn't change with a good run of form.

I don't believe that a couple of good games here and there warrants a player who's on £70,000 a week and could be replaced by half of the centre halves in the league and we wouldn't feel any loss. Skrtel is a premier league class player, but he's not a good player in terms of what we're looking to achieve. He should be sold, simple as that.

OK Stu. Given the money we have might have for signings, and those "half of the centre halves in the league" that could replace him were "available", where do we start ?

(I feel a big f'uck off NOT HIM ! coming on   :D  )

:D

Yeah, you're probably right, can't even be bothered going into it. Put it this way, if we had Wes Brown instead of Skrtel, we wouldn't miss the Slovak.

Wes Brown?  The Great Baked Bean that used to roll around at OT? We should sign him and ship Skrts out. That's outside the box thinking and will baffle the other managers. *nod*

Don't think it was entirely his fault at the 2nd goal Stu, that was a communication problem between Mignolet, Skrtel and Flanagan! sort it out! 1st goal was just a howler from Toure

I agree with Stu here...at fault with the second goal and should have stopped the cross for the first goal. When Agger and Sakho are fit they should be our fist choice central defenders.

He was completely amateurish AGAIN for both goals. How he gets away with this so often I have no idea. Both goals he made the first and crucial error AGAIN. The man's a complete liability at times.

Yet another game where we've conceded two woeful goals due mainly to his ineptness. Too many times he costs us two goals a game. To be quite honest, I'm absolutely livid with the defending tonight, an average and past his best Darren Bent was made to look a world beater.

While I don't disagree with any of that..... chill the fu.ck out will you?!

We've just come from behind twice to score a last min pen that takes us 4 points from the top of the league.

If you won the fu.cking lottery you'd find a reason to be livid

Wasn't his best game obviously but it's unfair to blame him for the goals. The first goal wasn't a mistake, it was just a thing that happens, a defender got beat. For the second goal I actually blame Mignolet.

And to add sunshine to your rain Stu, that big, bald, amateurish divvy is on the winning side.

But it wasn't a great performance from him, I'll give you that. I'd certainly not call it amateurish though.  We miss Agger. Skrtel misses him too I bet. But then you don't like Agger either. Or Toure. For all your criticism, really, what is it you want from the club at this moment in time? I'm truly curious to understand this.
