Mark Gonzalez claims he will finally join Liverpool in two weeks.
The Chilean winger has seen his move delayed by a number of months after he saw his original transfer from Albacete scuppered when he failed to secure a work-permit.
However, Chile have since risen in Fifa rankings which has smoothed over the deal and Liverpool confirmed the deal was back on in October.
Gonzalez - currently recovering from a bad knee injury - claims he will be on Merseyside before the end of the year.
"I'll join Liverpool in two weeks and I'd be able to play a friendly in a month," Gonzalez said.
"I'm anxious to fly and be with my new team-mates. It's important to get used to my new team quickly.
"They know I'm a left-footed midfielder and like to attack.
"If the coach wants me to play in defence, I'll do it, because I want to get used to it as soon as possible."
Garcia left wing? Looks like he plays a free roaming role with Crouch keeping the ball up front. Zenden was cover for Kewell, now Gonzo is here, look to see Kewell sold at the end of the season. I would imagine Gonzo taking half the season to get match fit (still injured) but once he gets a few games under his belt, it will make Zenden and Kewell hard to take that spot away from him.
Good news about gonzales. But to be perfecly honest i would have loaned out Sinama Pongolle, he is a young player and a loan spell would do him the world of good. Glad to see dudek isnt going.
I dno where i heard it, but havn't we been linked with di vaio or something from valencia.
Yeah, he will be allowed to play friendles and competitions, but physically, he is a bit far off from first team action. Will feature in the reserves for some time.
I thought the Department for Employment and Pensions had refused to review the situation (Oliver!) until the summer? I hope the b*stards have changed their minds.
I think we need to temper the enthusiasm with a note of caution here too guys. How often have we heard rave reviews only to see things fall flat on their faces...can't settle in the EPL, homesick, different game tempo, etc.?
Don't get me wrong, nothing would please me more than to see the young lad do well on debut but rather than be snowed under by expectation, just to enjoy himself and to play well for the Reds.
I think we might be seeing Cisse on his way out in January though.
There's one thing for sure - the board will give Rafa the money he wants now!!!! DZon't be too shocked to see a few players overshadowing the arrival of Gonzalez!!!
