but im not too sure on that one.....what i am sure of is we will be all over them like a rash, flies on :censored:, white on rice all of that....and will go on to win the match.

i know even if its a draw or a loss we are not out of it and blah blah blah but no, this is about beating the old enemy.

someone slap me for putting sissoko instead of monster masch

I'd stick with the same team for this game.

The only alternative line up to consider for me would be:

Reina

Riise
Hyypia
Carragher
Arbeloa

Kewell
Mascherano
Leiva
Gerrard

Torres
Kuyt

Rafa likes a strong midfield against teams like the Manc's, so it wouldn't surprise me to see that as the line up, but for me, seeing as this is at home - I'd keep Benayoun in and keep Gerrard central.

Rafa's been keen on playing Sissoko against the Manc's in past fixtures, but on this occasion, it's just not an option IMO - he just isn't anywhere near the form he hit two seasons ago to warrant a start.

I think the Manc's will line up as follows:

Van Der Saar

Evra
Ferdinand
Vidic
Brown

Giggs
Carrick/Hargreaves
Anderson
Ronaldo

Rooney
Tevez

I really like Red Trader's team I would try:
                               Reina
  Finnan        Carra            Hyypia     Arbeloa
             Mascherano             Lucas
Gerrard                   Yossi                    Kewell
                               Torres
Subs: Itandje, Aurelio, Babel, Kuyt, Crouch

I wouldn't expect many changes from last nights team. Although it sounds stupid saying it with confidence! Same team but with Finnan coming in for Riise. As for the result, fook knows. I'll be on the piste in France, there's a wicked English Sports Bar at the bottom of the main run so i'll be pulling in about ten to three (French time), parking me snowboard, grabbing a beer and screaming at the TV by 3:01! Can't fu..c..kin wait!

Fernando Torres this is your chance become an Anfield legend!!!!!!!!

If it ever was, now is certainly not the time to be messing around with the team too much that's for sure. Obviously, I'd go with the same team that won in Marseilles, but if we really must change it (we mustn't of course unless anyones injured but if we FEEL that we really must) then I hope it's kept to sensible levels.

Crouch in for Kuyt? maybe. Finnan in for the swapped over Arbeloa to replace Riise? Maybe. Any 4-3-3 nonsense though, with Voronin wide left, or a 4-5-1 with a withdrawn Gerrard playing behind a christmas tree with its' focal point of Torres, it's left and right struts fromed by a fulcrum of Babel crossing with Lucas, whichever one is closest to the touchline in a kind of withdrawn etc etc would be a disaster.

To be perfectly honest I aren't quite as confident as many posters on here as it is. We are playing against a team which will finish in the top two of the Premiership, regardless of where we finish. If we win it, they will be second you can be 100%v certain of that. When we lost to Reading on Saturday and Arsenal lost to Boro, people rejoiced, "we haven't lost any ground!" but we had on the Mancs, and we had on Chelsea. We effectively gave the Mancs back the three points they lost on us due to their awful result against Bolton (as some pro-rotationers said at the time "see, they rotate as well  :D ).

Lose here and we're gone for all money in my opinion. Win, and we're getting ourselves back into the equation. We aren't "right back in it" or anything similar, because we've got to play all the big four away from home in the run in. If at that stage, before that run of matches we were three or four points clear at the top, then we'd be right back in it. As it is though, avoidance of defeat here prevents us from falling totally out of it, while a win keeps us in the shake up.

We are going to need to be at our very best to win the game. We need a sensible team selection, a bit of luck and the players to play like they did in midweek.

I am a betting man, but not risking ANY of my moolah on this - it
could go either way.

Remember, we've never scored against Man U under Rafa.

A quite pivotal match though - a win would really boost our title challenge

These are the games when I'm glad Kewell is fit again. I can really see him taking them apart on the left in this one.

I have an inkling there'll be an early goal, and suddenly it'll be a really open game. Better than that, I really think the 3 points are ours.
