We will batter Derby, I just hope they dont get 11 men behind the ball and
hope for nil-nil.
I hate it when teams do that.

OOOOOOOOOH!

Lets see:

Reina

Finnan  Hyypia  Agger  Arbeloa/Riise (not sure)

Yossi  Mascha  Alonso  Babel

         Torres   Kuyt

But maybe we could play Pennant on the right, I like that formation as is though. Obviously may have to change our game plan if they have 15 men behind the ball. Anyone noticed how when a game isnt going our way Rafa has been substituting an attacking player for a different type of attacking player as opposed to last season where the bench was seriously lacking. Loving it so far. We do have genuine quality on our flanks finally (I rate Pennant highly).

Should be a comfortable win. Would like to see the likes of Babel, Lucas and Leto given premiership start. I reckon the reds gonna need someone creative to breakdown Derby's dogged defense.

Our last game before the international break so we should put out our strongest team for this one, (whatever that is :D  )but not Gerrard as we need him to fully recover, and hopefully still get an easy three points.

Our next match after the break (Portsmouth away ) will be the next real test of just how good we are going to be this season, a convincing win and I think we are on our way... Gerrard having to pull us out of the sh!t or another dubious ref robbing us and we may have got carried away with the hype of beating a very poor Toulouse.

Back to Derby my team would be :-

                         Reina
Finnan       Hyypia        Agger     Riise

Pennant    Mascherano   Alonso    Babel

              Torres       Crouch

I have gone for Crouch, because at home against the "lesser lights" I think he can cause real problems and maybe grab a goal or two. I didn't like leaving Benayoun out, but think Pennant deserves his place at the moment, even though Benny had a good game yesterday.

We should be beating teams like Derby at home by 3/4 goals in all honesty, no disrespect meant to them but we're looking in great form at the moment and with all 4 strikers off the mark so soon the season should just get better for us, would send Crouch to train with the kids until he learns to head the ball, god he was shocking infront of goal last night, fair play for the goal but how many sitters does he miss???

Torres and Kuyt for this one, I'd also play Yossi down the left for the fact he can cut in and is more likely to free the strikers if we're missing Stevie G.

                  Reina
Finnan   Hyppia   Agger   Arbeloa

Pennant  Alonso  Masch  Yossi

           Torres  Kuyt

More goals in the bag for El Nino me thinks

gonna be tough in the middle and i reckon we should keep the alonso/sissoko partnership so we can press high up the park. can yossi play left? coz if he can i would def put him there and alllow the in form pennant to operate on the right. up front put kuyt and torres as i think they have good understadning between each other. back 4 will be finnan - hypia-agger-arbeloa

That sounded like you were a kid again going into a pick'n'mix spoiled for choice.

"Hmm, I'll have that one! Oh, no, maybe that one! Na, this one!."

But yeah, I think Rafa is getting that way these days, what with all the options he has.

Right, for this game, I hear people talk about 11 men behind the ball and that. Good. I hope they do this. They will be battered. We've got some quality width these days, and with Torres and Vornin, Kuyt being playing as clever as they have when paired respectivly, we should be able to carve them apart regardless. Could be a game for Crouch to shine if they want to pack the box out. We'll need his hight and flick on's. If this game becomes stretched in any way, we'll thump them.

2-0 to us.

Anyone seen any good bets to do?

Us to win by 2 or more goals at 8-13 seems nailed on.
Ryan Babel last scorer at 9-2 seems fair value.
