Excellent performance tonight. Although it's quite easy to condemn Morientes's, I think his performance tonight wasn't that bad. Fair enough he swung and missed a couple of times in front of goal but his overall game (heading, workrate and link up play) was much improved. As a striker you would be more worried if you weren't even creating the chances and getting into the positions to score. Morientes is simply lacking confidence, with a good run of games (and a bit of luck) I really do still believe that he'll come good.

He completely wasted all of the good work his team mates did by setting him up. We can't have him playing against the mancs because they'd be all fired-up and nando will still be missing even the simplest of chances.

True, but, no other strikers get into those positions to score clear cut chances like that. Maybe we need him there, still. It will fall for him, its just not his season. Faith, Benitez still has it for Mori, I do too.

i think that win has basically secured us 3rd place in the league, now we have to maintain the form and push the Man Utd all the way for second.

Manhattan is immensely happy.

We dominated the game (again) and were rewarded by a sweet goal. Excellent subsitutions from Rafa. How I wished Robbie would take that penalty, LOL!!!.

I think generally the whole team played well. Kewell was very active and seemed very motivated, Robbie was unlucky not to score (he didn't quite get a clean sweep of that ball), I wanted Morientes to score, he had a few chances, but he looks like he's lacking confidence.

I think we contained Henry quite well. He was pretty much quite during that match and Dudek had very little to do. Sissoko played well but I was concerned about a few wayward passes. But he's strong and effective in his role. Our defensive team looked comfortable, our midfielders played well too. We created a lot of chances, just missing that final finish, which I'm sure Rafa will deal with in the summer.

Overall, an excellent performance.

i think we'll turn them over Tuesday....Arsenal are a spent force now.  Apart from Henry and Cole, they're very average.

Yeah, i mean van Persie's rubbish, Gilberto-Silva, Pires, Ljungberg, Campbell... all just lost it overnight...

have you seen Campbell play?

Erm... Yes, about 100 times why?

because if you'd seen him play this season, you'd have seen he can't kick or defend a ball to save his life....and yes, he has lost it overnight  :D

Morientes missing that many chances again! doesnt do confidence any good, how Rafa cant see the problem is remarkable.

Man Utd Saturday.

CIsse and Garcia probably. please dont play Morientes Rafa.

its unbearable.

I know it gets frustrated to look at Morientes at the moment but today he at least made nice runs etc and was almost always in the right positions. The only thing that he lacked was a few goals. I think he works quite well with Fowler.

Fowler is by far our best striker though and he played well today.

I really like seeing Hamann in the middle as oppose to Sissoko.

He goes to the right places that Cisse NEVER does. Nuff said, give the lad some confidence and luck, and the goals will flow. Guarenteed.
