what we need to do is take it to them. maybe baros up front with garcia just behind ina  free role. smicer on the left and kewell on the right.

we should be able to take them though, we need a good result more than anything and even if biscan plays, he will know how important the game is and we have all seen he CAN do a job

I don't think I've ever found it as hard as this to predict a side, or pick my ideal team. We've got class players suspended, injured or chronically out of form, and squad players who don't deserve to wear the red of Wrexham, never mind Liverpool.

the key to this game is not conceding in the first leg. 1 or 2 nil would be a perfect score to take into the 2nd leg. giving an away goal would be disastrous. the Good thing is we only let in 1 goal at home so far in 3 cl games

I think that liverpool are a better than leverkusen becouse they are a better side and they have better players with the lights of  Dudek,Hyppia,Hamann ,Biscan,Luis Garcia ,Riise and Baros. l think that  They’re going to do well.

I'm not convinced with the midfield of Hamann and Biscan, Hamann will handle the defensive duties but Biscan offers nothing. We'll have to attack from the channels.

I was just saying on another thread - that I thought we might be able to do a bit of damage with Baros, Kewell, Garcia & Gerrard.

How about puttin Jamie Carragher in Central Midfield
Make him Captain - and watch him destroy them in the middle of the park
The only problem with that - is we would win every single tackle - but end up going side to side - cause he doesn't like gettin forward too much
Just an idea though

but if we did that - we'd have to have hyppia & Traore as central cover
maybe not

Well for my team, i would move JC to CM because the onlu CM available would be Hamann. Smicer, Kewell, Nunez, Riise, Garcia could all play in midfield, but i think they are more wide players and wouldn't be suited - in such an important game to play as an attacking CM. I would more trust Traore at CB with Hyypia rather than a not-fully-fit Smicer, Kewell or Biscan.

the most crucial thing is keeping a clean sheet so playing hamann and biscan will be quite good as they protect the back four and we can hope we hit them on the counter attack

Just saw the goal La Tellac scored for the reserves. Similar to morientas header against fulham. I don't know why rafa did not put him at least on the bench against birmingham.
