Liverpool v bolton - Boxing day

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Ciggy » Mon Dec 22, 2008 8:38 am

Expect 10 men behind the ball job against Notlob, hope we play 4-4-2 and not with two holding midfielders must win game after the 3 recent draws at Anfield, we have Newcastle away on sunday morning 12 o'clock kick off  :Oo:

So there will be some changes made with 2 games in less than 48 hours.

Give us a nice Chrimbo redmen 3 points please.

Playing Bolton couldn't have come at a worse time. We've drawn four of our last five games, they've won five of their last eight with three losses against Liverpool (1st), villa (3rd) and Chelsea (2nd). Our home advantage hasn't proved such an advantage against Stoke, Fulham, West Ham and Hull so this could prove as tough as the game at the shoebox

Last Eight Premiership Games

Liverpool P8 W3 D4 L1 PTS 13
Bolton P8 W5 D0 L3 PTS 15

I expect us to be second after the game tonight. The bitters have been poor at home, Chelsea exceptional away. One bitter on the other forum I go on was predicting a 2-0 away win because of their respective form home and away. Chelsea are also mirroring our games against the same opposition this season so put your money on a 2-0 away win

BOL 0-2 LIV
BOL 0-2 CHE

LIV 0-0 WHU
CHE 1-1 WHU

EVE 0-2 LIV
EVE ?-? CHE

I suspect Rafa will ring the changes and rest a few regulars ahead of the busy xmas schedule. I hope we have Torres back before the New Year, if only to give us a goalscoring option. He could provide a timely lift to a flagging season, I reckon we could need him against Newcastle as their defence looks like it will leak goals even if their striking threat is great. Maybe Rafa will shake hands with Owen on 28/12 and again in January......................

Tricky game this one I think. Bolton have won handsomly a couple of times on the road recently and are no pushovers. That said, the law of averages says we'll win one at Home sooner or later and I fancy we'll put in a bit of a performance and win comfortably. i don't really know why I think that, I've just got a feeling.

Lets play a 4-4-2, put in Benni or El Zhar on the right, kuyt and Keane up top.

we have to win this game! chelski just drew, we remain top but manure has 2 games in hand and they can go on level with chelski if they win those 2 games though im hoping those sc*ms lose bloody sc*ms they are.

we're home to Bolton so we have to attack and score goals so that means dropping kuyt.

im more worried about the match away to newcastle. owen is on form lately.

Kuyt on the right, Keane up front. I guess Benayoun will start to cry again because of being sub.

This is a must win game. Especially being at home and putting our draws into account. We will put in a big performance and i could see us winning 3-0. Bolton will be no pushover though. Will not be easy.  I hope this dont end up with another 0-0.

I'll take any kind of a win here to get this home draw blip out of the way and back to winning ways.

3:1 to the lads Keane with a brace :)

I'm sure I read a quote a while back on .tv that we could see Skrtel before the new year, any news on that?
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road
