LAZAR MARKOVIC- Official thread

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby IstanBuL-FenerBaHce » Fri Oct 23, 2015 7:44 am

Guys,

I think he would be better to stay there for this season  :upside:

Yesterday he had played his first European competition game with us against Ajax, he showed one of the good performances on the pitch.

Still didin't do anything extra special since the day he came, but it is obvious he has some different talent and grabbed his place in the first 11 with his efforts.

He failed to impress when given the chance last season and while I'd agree that we could have set the stage a bit better for him (position he played, chance to string strarts, etc.) he really didnt look like a supremely talented player struggling for form (take the examples of Di Maria and Depay at Utd). He'll do better in Turkey and given his age he'll no doubt improve as a player. Whether he'll ever be good enough for a regular place in the starting 11 I have serious doubts.

agree with this, with Markovic its definitely a case of absence makes the heart grow fonder, although he can have legit grievances about the amount of opportunity he was given, Markovic showed barely any noticeable talent when he did play. Even when good talented players are struggling you can see something that makes their talent obvious, whether it be their touch, a glimpse skill, some vision etc can anyone honestly say that Markovic ever looked like any kind of serious talent? his dribbling was nothing more than kick and run, his passing was average and he carried an average goal threat, i have serious doubts that he is anything more than a decent player, hopefully this loan move will benefit him at least he will be playing regularly.

He is playing well in Turkey, let him continue to play well and bring him back hungrier next year. The guy has talent, don't expose to him Rodgers stench anymore than he has been.

I have a mate who now lives in Turkey and as a result follows Fenerbache ,he reckons representatives of the top Spanish clubs are keeping tabs on him ,and they were at the recent Galatasaray game..... Fuck  !!!!  :(

Decent player and sure he might have some upside.
BUT that is why a club that is interested in winning snaps these kinds of players up when they are 25-26
when they have matured and shown their class. Not like our West ham imitations lately of buying players at 20 and hoping to get them to perform right away.
Never worked and never will!

He should be back here, it's ridiculous to spend £20m on a 20 year old player and then loan him out, you loan out £6m/£7m players not £20m players.

Brodgson didn't rate him. Says enough to me to suggest he is worth giving a go to.

Couldn't agree more mate but I'm not sure we can recall him in January, I'm sure I read somewhere that the loan was for a year and couldn't be cut short without the consent of both clubs.

scored against celtic the other day. we're not exactly short of tricky attacking players but i'd have him back any day.

How about play him in his correct position? That would be a start
