I think their supporters would let the city of Liverpool become a smoking hole in the ground before they let the Reds share their stadium for a season.

I wouldnt even think about us playing in that sh'ithole of a shed

They could do with the money by the looks of things.

i`m being serious, we`d obviously have to compensate them because their pitch will get battered with so many games being played on it but we could do that for a season without losing a dramatic amount of revenue, goodison holds basically 40,000.

Dont take this the wrong way, but absolutely fu'ck the fu'ck off

it was mentioned a while back in the echo and the everton reaction was more about taking us the cleaners for millions in compensation rather than being against the move. it`s not like it`s never happened before, we have a history of moving into their grounds.

Talk about late, I asked for Thommo Perm's number two weeks ago and have yet to receive it. Obviously he/she is playing hard to get.

Also I doubt many Everton fans would be against it, weren't Everton strongly in favour of the groundshare proposal?

Liverpool drop plans to build new stadium

Friday, June 1, 2012 at 07:05 UK

Liverpool are expected to announce plans that they intend to stay at Anfield and expand the ground as opposed to building a new stadium on Stanley Park.

The issue over a new stadium has been brought up in recent months, although the plans have recently been overshadowed by Liverpool's search for a new manager, which is certain to be Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers.

It is understood that once the Northern Irishman has put pen to paper, the Merseyside club's American owners will switch their focus to the stadium, where they plan to demolish houses around Anfield in order to extend the infamous ground.

"We have been working with the club very closely," the council's assistant director for regeneration Mark Kitts told The Guardian. "And they have said this will accommodate their needs if they stay at Anfield and refurbish the current stadium."

It is thought that the Reds intend to add an extra tier to the ground as well as include more facilities to the main stands and Anfield Road end.

My referred option. Keep Anfield and redevelop it. Best ground in the world made better!

Now this is VERY good news if true. Why knock down one of the iconic grounds in the world and apart from that my dads ashes are scattered where the old kop stood  and there they will remain without me worrying they would build a fooking Asda on top of them

There is enough room behind the main stand to demolish it, and knock down a few houses and buil a 2/3 tier new stand, increasing capacity to 55-60 thousand

I hope they tell the people living in the houses when they plan to knock them down.

[knock knock]

resident: ey ey whatsup lar?

builder: 5 minutes and we're going to knock your house down, get your sh!t together, here's a four pack and a few quid...   do one.

resident: ey ey thank foook for that, we're fooked off with replacing the window everytime Carra makes a clearance.
