And I actually asked when do we pick up the trophy - it's called sarcasm intended to make a point.
But I suppose someone going around the board throwing insults and attacking posters is all relevant and adds so much to the board.
Before you start calling me a "troll" ( for posting opinions ) Bam why don't you have a look at you and your history of posting on here. Maybe you might just see a problem within yourself.

It's no coincidence that you're at the heart of most spats on here.

but somehow within 12 months we had won the biggest prize in club football.
benitez was competing against some of the most powerful clubs in the world when he was here, at that time united were bragging that they were the biggest club in the world (the first billion pound club), and chelsea spent more money than any club in the history of the game, both were managed by top managers as well.
in comparison all`s that rafa had was a couple of million quid and his notepad but that was all he needed (any money rafa spent he generated himself with his CL runs).
under benitez we knocked the likes of barcelona, real madrid, AC milan, inter milan, juventus, chelsea, arsenal, PSV, marseilles, anderlecht etc etc out of the CL (rafa`s record of getting us to 2 finals, a semi final and a quarter final in 6 years is phenominal) and we were just pipped to the prem title by a united side that had a forward line of christiano ronaldo, rooney and tevez.
and as good as that united team was we beat them home and away that year including a 4-1 defeat at old trafford which came days after we beat real madrid 4-0 at anfield.
i cant believe anyone could have a go at benitez after what he did for this club.
i wouldnt swap rodgers for any manager at this moment but i wouldnt start slating a genuine legend of this club to make my point.

Fantastic post and I'm sorry mate if it came across that I was slating Rafa. That was not my intention. I was simply trying to reason that sacking BR and bringing back Rafa was not in my opinion the best way to go. Rafa had an incredible amount of sh.ite to put up with over his last couple of years with the club and that may well have influenced his decisions which lead to a very lack lustre period. I will always be a fan and even cheered him on to win the Europa League even if it was with a bunch of fkg chavs !!

your general point is right mate, rafa had 6 years at the club which is a decent run by modern standards (the average manager these days lasts 18 months) and now it`s rodgers`s turn, he deserves the chance to show what he can do.
i pointed out in that post you quoted that when rafa arrived we were in turmoil but to be fair to rodgers he never exactly inherited a rose garden himself either.
over the past 3 years we`ve nearly gone to the wall, gone through a civil war between the fans, had a change of ownership, had 4 managers, lost a potential DoF (pep segura) when we decided not to hire one, been involved in the biggest sporting race row since the early 80`s, sacked a club legend up there with bill shankly and have finished 6th, 7th and 8th in the league!
with the likes of coutinho and sturridge leading the way the fact that the future potentially looks so bright after just 9 months is a testament of how good a job brendan is doing.
btw i can understand some fans feeling that rafa has unfinished business at the club because of the way he left, rafa was prepared to take the world on for us, he had run ins with ferguson (and his sidekick david gill), mourinho, wenger, allardyce, moyes, warnock, the F.A.....the lot, he had us going toe to toe trading blow for blow with the richest and most powerful clubs in the world at a time when when they held all the aces, rafa benitez though, like all great caesers was brought down from within, stabbed in the back.
he was so busy fighting for us that was the one direction he wasnt looking.
thats all water under the bridge now and a part of LFC history, its brendans turn to write us another chapter.
