I thought we were excellent defensively until the double substitution. He high pressing was forcing WBA to play long and we were winning every long ball. BUT the problem was with the lineup was in the attack. I would have liked to see us start with Borini for Sturridge and the lineup we've been playing.

Yeah becuase Borini was frigging amazing when he came on wasn't he???
The reality is that almost all the players Rodgers has brought in have been duds with the exception of Sturridge and its way too soon to comment on Coutinho.
Brendan definitely lacks the ability to fire up his troops, just think back to the last time we came roaring out in the secodn half, yeah I'm struggling with that one as well. He is not a bad manager but he has a hell of a lot of learning left to do, I really despair for this club becuase I'm convinced we'll loose a lot of our top players in the summer and I have zero confidence that Brendan will replace them with what we need.

I think the jury is still out on Allen. He had a cracking start to the season, he did not put a foot wrong and drew lots praise for his performances.

Rodgers himself noted that Allen had played as many games for LFC by December as he had played for the entire previous season for Swansea - this, IMO, contributed enormously to his poor performances after that. I hope to see a strong finish to the season from him.

Needs to see an improvement on the run in or he will be under
intense pressure.

Thats football now like it or not and Henry could easy pull the
trigger this summer if we dont shape up.

Think it's time for the fans to put the pressure on FSG to spend some f*cking money.

I agree and FSG have had an easy ride here.

We have become grateful for very little and extremely submissive.

They may do nothing but if we accept mediocraty we are not being true to the principles the club was built on.

It's not only about money bav, it's about buying experience. their philosophy of buying 20 year old players because of their ''return value'' is completely business driven. We need Bellamys and Mcallisters in our team, if we don't change our ways we are f*cked

Completely agree. Good sides have a blend of talented and experienced leaders. I think we are losing a lot of games just due to not having enough experience on the field. WHEN we get attacking players that kill off teams from less chances, we will stop losing to the Villas, WestBroms, Stokes of the world.

I think the reason we concede so many goals is we play so openly for so long during the game. Skrtel and Agger didn't become bad defenders, but they don't have nearly the protection from the fullbacks and midfielders, they got under Rafa, Roy, and Kenny. If we can kill games off faster, we can sit back more and protect our CBs. I absolutely maintain that if we had taken our chances and gone ahead home vs. Villa, WBA (home and away), and Zenit, we would have won those games.

i think metalhead nails it, we have spent a few quid but it`s all invested in potential, the likes of hendo, allen, borini, coutinho, carroll,  shelvey even assaidi are all 5 years away from their footballing prime. the likes of sterling and suso are even further away than that, they are nearly a decade away from their best years.

Yes I completely agree, but its pathetic the way some people complain about the lack of money as the money has clearly been spent. Its just not been spent wisely. We need some experience and perhaps a new captain.

For once I don't really think it is the money not spent that has been the problem since the new owners took over. More HOW the money has been spent!
When the vermin was here there literally was no money at all(not that anyone cared and blamed Rafa anyway).

But we have just made "Keane" deals every single time. Overpaid for british ****. Rinse and repeat.
Comolli and Kenny just wasted an absolute fortune, more ***** big buys than Rafa did in his entire time here.
That money will never be seen again. The Rodgers comes and does the exact same thing, pisses away 26 million on Borini and Allen. So far they don't look to be worth 10 together.
Almost nothing of the money spent since FSG took over has actually improved the team.
That is down to the mangers. But FSG stupid style of just buying young players cause of future value will kill any club from winning anything.
No club with an average age under 25 will win anything in todays football.
We will become Arsenal light, selling they few players that actually turns into gems after getting tired of losing for a few years.
Next step is the new Bolton and West Ham, being proud to produce great young prospects for the "big clubs".
If we continue on that road FSG has laid it will lead to folly.

It's hard to play well when the players around you are not either. I don't think he was awful. He had a good volley saved. He got himself into a good position on the Gerrard rebound, but couldn't convert. Its way to early to be judging him as a Liverpool player. It takes time especially for young players to bed into a team. He's also coming back from injury.

FSG have NOT spent 150 million since they came in. Look at what they recouped Torres as a example also they have slashed the wage bill. As for Rodgers "That was a near perfect away performance" he definitely is B.ULLSHIT RODGERS

Hes right though. Zenit are a good team and we played a great game up until they scored a wonder goal.
If Suarez  would have put 2 of his chances away we would have won. He didnt and we were sucker punched again through the defence folding under pressure.
That was a 1000 % better performance than against wba and I dont really see why you are saying hes a bullshitter based on tonights performance?

Bear in mind that in the previous two seasons (09-10 and 10-11) we spent about £45 million in total so the money spent last season and this season (including Suarez and Carroll) has had to compensate for that and start to get us back challenging.
