Those 2 examples are not great. Seville didnt want to sell Alves and will be pleased they still have him. Simao was also someone who Benfica didnt need to sell and its only now due to some sort of bustup the situation has changed.
I really doubt Seville are thinking "damn we could of got £8 million for Alves"

Oh and pennant could really be seen as rafa paying over the odds because is he really worth 7mil, im not sure about that, then again there is a lot of paying over the odds for players going on so im not having a go at rafa. Good signing that has finally filled that RW spot leaving more money to concentrate on a striker
