Benayoun - Rate him or not?

Benayoun is a player I like a lot. Although not quite in the class of Beardsley there are certain similarities. Id also like to see him playing of Fernando.

He's a player who can unlock tight defenses and got that little bit of creativity about him , he's not playing in his best position for us but he's still doing well , very versatile player and useful as well . Should be starting more games soon as he could proof to be the difference

Because he is underrated IMO, he becomes a great asset to the team.
His tackle that led to LIverpool's second goal against Chelsea was god-sent, or perhaps the work of Yossi?
BTW should that be credited as an assist?

The lad has been playing well the past couple of months and deserves any credit that comes his way. It's good to see him get some time playing through the middle where his trickery, eye for a pass and ability to find a bit of space come to the fore. He's very effective in tight spaces and is a player you want in and around the box and you will only really see that if he's allowed to roam or you play him behind the front man. I'd be quite happy with Yossi playing behind Torres and Gerrard occupying the right hand spot in Rafa's 4-2-3-1.

oh, I'm don't know about in Europe, but in California, if Liverpool FC is mentioned, people only talk about names like Gerrard, Torres, Keane and maybe Carragher.
that's why i thought Yossi is underrated and deserves more credit.

Since he gave away the free kick against Everton in the league at Anfield that lead to the equalizer, he's upped his performances and effort.

He has played really well in the last few games and has delivered consistently more than at any other time since he arrived at the club. Maybe it's down to injuries and getting a decent run.

I think this has a lot to do with it, he deserves his place in the team now and he offers a lot from his position

Ok I surrender.

I have posted some mild praises to Benayoun here and there this season.

But it's time to bow down:

:bowdown

What a season Benayoun lad.

I'll also hold my hand up and say I was wrong with his signing up. I knew Benayoun of Racing de Santander, a younger Benayoun, with quality yes, but I thought he was not big club material, but mid team material.

The chances he's been given in this crucial season have been answered with good responses from the lad almost every time.

For me he's been excellent since christmas. In that time he's set up goals against Bolton, Newcastle, Chelsea, Portsmouth and Man City. Ok you'd say that should be the norm for a wide player but he's produced a couple of those assists from the left flank where as Riera has struggled to have an impact from that position in recent weeks.

:D Lets not get carried away here, (or you can if you want). This last month or so he has played well. He still wouldn't get into our first choice eleven, but he has played well and left his form of the previous 20 months behind. He's a decent player. He probably wouldn't get a game in any of the toher top four teams, including Villa.

No bleedin' way...I'm sticking to my guns on this one. Even Lucas had a few decent games on the trot, and people started to really, really believe he is Brasilian.
Benayoun is awful and one or two decent performances doth not make a season.
I have never rated him, nor have I changed my mind....I could expand on that but won't repeat myself

I don't think he has more quality than I thought he had, but I did think he was a mid team man. The kind of man that if given lots of matches is good for a team, but when given a few chances in a big club doesn't work.

Not saying he's Messi, just saying he's able to have few chances and take the chance no matter if he has been on the bench the last two weeks

think again mate? he's been brilliant for us recently -he's one player who has taken their opportunity with both hands, when picked as either in the starting line up or as sub. his attitude is an example to other fringe players etc.
