I agree.

When we destroyed Madrid it was because they were rubbish and not being the team they were (Despite them winning 14 games in a row in La Liga). It was the same when we beat Inter and Barca.

This thread - along with the Mourinho one - is at times very embarassing to say the least. People heralding or ridiculing the respective managers after each and single result whether it be good or bad is a wee bit pointless (and might I perhaps even add stupid) given the season is still very long and unpredictable. Many people could potentially end up with egg on their face at the end of the season.

Don't get me wrong, it is of course all very well having threads about these two personas in "general football", it's just the "debate" itself which is most often borderline cringeworthy. What I am getting at is this: Please give the hatred/wankfest for these two managers a break just once in a while :;):.

Rant over.

Amazing how less than 12 months ago that same team squeezed the life out of barcelona to the extent Lionel Messi didn't get a kick for two matches, and now they can't stop Gareth Bale.

well made up yeah?

who the feck cares if Inter lost? They are not LFC...

by looking at the reactions on here it proves the point that the ones who are still obsessed with Rafa are the anti-Rafa's...

I just don't understand the need to rejoice at someones else's faliures especially if that someone else was an ex liverpool manager who brought us success and made us a European giant once again...

And to think that these same people are the ones preaching respect, class, decorum and accusing other posters of lacking the same thing that they themselves lack even more... Good going "Respectfulz". You are indeed very classy...

High five!

Interesting read on the situation, mate.  Incredibly one-sided but interesting.  You might, however, wish to trawl back through this thread--say through pages 26-30 or so--to get a glimpse of the other side of the coin.  Inter up 4-0 against Spurs at the San Siro is the setting and the Rafa obsession that you're talking about is there for all to see.  Except, it wasn't coming from the 'antis' on that occasion.  Maybe a wee read back will help put these more recent comments into perspective and might just make it clear that, when it comes to discussing Rafa, very few people are 'above the fray' around here.

Reality Check: Rafa is no longer a topic for sensible discussion on this board.  He's merely an instrument for winding others up.
Unfortunately, Roy is moving with lightning quick speed into the same category.  Of course, there's still a few posters that struggle gamely not to get caught up in the petty point scoring but they're rather thin on the ground these days.  :glare:

I'm just glad you and the rest of the mods are keeping on top of things and looking for any insults by either pro or anti rafa fans... we're lucky to have you all

Inter score is just a blip tho, the teams too good to not progress far in the comeptetion.. and maybe the manager will spend more time on inter and less on liverpool before the next game  :)

OK - so inter lost - Tottenham are gonna win the CL and Bale is now the euivalent of 'Messi'

The over-reaction to this result and that performance, in themedia is quite astonishing really - ppl forget that Rafa did not put out his strongest team due to injuries.. and for some of you to gloat at Inter's loss because of Rafa - truly shows where we have come on the Rafa-Road - it's a DEAD END FOR SOME OF YOU AND POLITELY - I suggets those of you at that dead end.. move on

For those of us who lurve him, rerspect him, appreciate what he did for LFC but, even more for the people of the city -dead and alive- I say walk-on Rafa or is it Grazie......

you have argentina pictures, Rafa benitez quotes.. and the smallest Liverpool badge I've ever seen... yeah, we know where your loyalties lie hun  :D

I love how when Inter lose its not his strongest team, when Liverpool lose its managerial mistakes...

but like ive said, it wasnt a must win game, it was a tough away tie and spurs first season in CL so they have nothing really to lose. Rafa knows about Bale though and should have done something to stop him

I think maguskwt's post sums it up really well. In my eyes Rafa got us back at the top, granted his last season was sh!te but FFS he put us up where we belonged to be and offered some great nights in this club's history. How the hell can someone laugh at him and get off on his failures? IMO its an absolute disgrace, all of this respect malarky that's been preached over Roy has gone straight out the f'uckin window with some of the comments here about a previous manager
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

most of the people doing this are only doing it to retaliate against the 'pro rafa' lot who have been non stop abusing Roy... swings and roundabouts...

plus, we're not so blind we dont forget how poor we were last season, all the bad buys and how the players seemed to have lost interest and how 99% of peple on here agreed it was time to go.

Plus, why are there more posts wishing Rafa luck than wishing Roy luck? Yeah we laugh, but so what, hes got his millions to leave, hes at a top european club but its all fair

fair enough Daws, but one party has to call a truce before we can all just foret him and move on. It's just really frustrating, look at how happy some posters are in this thread. We're 12th in the league and this ain't exactly looking rosy. f'uck Rafa, we need our house in order!  :D

oops 13th  :D

i'll admit im one of the biggest d!cks on here lately, but im just absolutely horrified by the way Roy has been treated by some members, and we are all becoming very childish. Maybe the Respektfulz should be banned from the Rafa thread, and the Rafa lot should... just be banned :D
