Roy has dug his own grave - Liverpool supporters are not fickle Paul, and don't suggest we are .. and despite reservations and his appt by those g'ts, not one would want him to fail.. but he has casued his own problems noth in terms of team performances.. and the embarrasing comments and interviews made.. 'should have beaten Everton' .. that comment alone 'he' was questioned about in press conferences over a week later.. :(

we'll just focus on the here and now eh? everyone else can have a moan in here in the meantime  :D

unlike for example Rafas this is fact rant that really helped matters :D

Like everyones saying, people make mistakes, but Roy has been abused since the day he took the job... i digress, i shall try to stay true to threads, this is for Rafa updates...

he needs to research his opponents more and worry about rpevious jobs more if he wants to win more games as last nigth showed us. Hopefulyl he can win the next 2 CL games and get a decent run in the league continuing to win that as well

If Roy was saying how he lvoed the Fulham fans all the time wed go mental, and you know it!!!

I would settle for our current manager shutting his  offensive grid I am really starting to dislike the man ...even if he waxed lyrical about Fulham it would be infinitely better than attempting to understand something he clearly knows fuck all about
I really want this man gone ....its become more than personal now ..... one nasty twisted old man ....and nobody and I do mean fucking nobody is going to tell me otherwise

How the hell can someone laugh at him and get off on his failures? IMO its an absolute disgrace, all of this respect malarky that's been preached over Roy has gone straight out the f'uckin window with some of the comments here about a previous manager

most of the people doing this are only doing it to retaliate against the 'pro rafa' lot who have been non stop abusing Roy... swings and roundabouts...

plus, we're not so blind we dont forget how poor we were last season, all the bad buys and how the players seemed to have lost interest and how 99% of peple on here agreed it was time to go.

Plus, why are there more posts wishing Rafa luck than wishing Roy luck? Yeah we laugh, but so what, hes got his millions to leave, hes at a top european club but its all fair

fair enough Daws, but one party has to call a truce before we can all just foret him and move on. It's just really frustrating, look at how happy some posters are in this thread. We're 12th in the league and this ain't exactly looking rosy. f'uck Rafa, we need our house in order!  :D

oops 13th  :D

well its the rafarites to call a truce. Because its blatantly obvious everytime roy blinks farts or opens his big gob ulot compare him to rafa.

This absolutely sums up how I feel about this thread and more broadly this entire forum. How spats between two sides of people over the last few years have made some of you lose all perspective in regards to Rafael Benitez and to a lesser extent Roy Hodgson. Honestly some of the insults against the man who like it or not brought Liverpool back to the very top of European football for the 1st time in 2 decades are baffling, as our some of the more personal insults against Roy Hodgson. How some of you can spew such vendictive bile against Rafa while at the same time being luvy dovey over Jose Mourinho, a man who MOCKED OUR VERY OWN FANS at the Carling Cup final in 05, well no two ways about it, its a disgrace and in my opinion you really need to step back until your judgment unclouds before you start back up with your hate campaigns.

Why you haters gotta hate?

Unfortunately, Roy is moving with lightning quick speed into the same category.

:buttrock I can't see what everyone is getting so hot under the collar about. Rafa doesn't work for us any more, and nobody from what I can see has abused him. I just think it's funny that he got owned by Harry Redknapp .

Harry did do him fair play to him.  But I still like to see how Rafa is doing but I havent insulted Roy,  I think its not looking good for him and he is one of the architects of his own doom, but I still havent insulted him

And if he leaves I wont insult him then.  I like the guy but just think wrong time wrong place wrong man cest la vie

Oh sorry this is a Rafa thread, but the two do seem to be intertwined somewhat these days.

On Rafa, well its early days and he has to get the team playing his way, but still some people just love insulting the guy, I mean before xmas as well.  How insane and rude is it to actually insult a manager who has just taken over the managers job from a top ranking team that have just lost an iconic manager.  Some people get knarked if this type of thing happens to any manager and I can sympathise with that point of view.  Its madness to insult any manager in a vitriollic way when he is new to the role and the previous guy was loved so much.  I mean anybody that does that to any manager has to seriously look at themselves as it seems like their personal hatred or need to be proven right all the time has clouded their otherwise wonderful football knowledge

(1) Some here think his league form was very poor - usually out of the league already (and yes, I know we are now)

(2) some of us are annoyed that he grabbed millions from a cash starved club to go, made very public donations and some here believe he is the good guy

(3) few of the people who thought rafa should stay, supported roy when he got  the job as all fans should have done.

FFS! A harmless bit of banter makes you cry?

Nothing wrong with fans giving players and managers of other teams stick and them giving it back. If a group of fans can't take stick then they shouldn't give it.

Stop being so sensitive.

I think "hatred" is a bit strong, I'd be surprised if anyone "hates" Rafa. Always seemed like a decent enough bloke to me, and apart from the last season did a fairly decent job as manager too. Not great, not legendary, not a hero, but decent. Some good buys, some bad buys, some good nights, some bad nights, two trophies in six seasons and a best effort in the league of 2nd, with a worse effort of 5th (I'm discounting the 7th of the final season). So all in all he did OK (apart from the last season). No need to "hate" him, but entirely legitimate to both question his iconic status, AND to think the time was right for a change (which it was).

Funnily enough (and I did think it was funny I just can't help it ) the Spurs game was very familiar. Bizarre press conferences, eyes well and truly taken off the ball and a set-up which wasn't genius. Followed of course by a lacklustre performance and a well deserved defeat.

What a pity.

Niall:

1. What should he have done in the league, made other top teams worse?

2. He took a fraction of the payoff he was entitled to, and I cannot believe you would use someone donating to a charity as a stick to beat them with, if it was made public so what? -it sure as hell wasnt Benitez that made it known

3. A small group of supporters on here have done that, therefore your beef should be aimed at them and not vented towards Benitez - ITS NOT HIS FAULT THEY MAKE THESE COMMENTS!

Im not even in the Pro camp man but your total contempt for our ex-manager really irks me, do you have as bad a word to say about any other ex-LFC managers?
