Group f (f troop) - Australia's group

International Football/Football World Wide - General Discussion

Postby Lionheart » Fri Dec 09, 2005 11:44 pm

Brazil
Croatia
Japan
Australia

This is not the worst group. It is/will be difficult but the Aussies can progress. We need to knock over Japan in the first match.

Historically, Australia does have a good record against both Japan & Croatia. So it's all there for the taking.

Can we progress??  I think we can.     :wwww

Hell no. We trashed you lot 7-0 the last time we played you. All those victories you had against us were in the early 90's. Now we have as good as a side we did in '98. We're difficult to break down and beat.

The 7-0 loss was in 1998 with a team made up of mainly Australia based players, not internationals.

It's the world cup...EVERYONE is difficult to breakdown and beat.

Australia can beat Croatia and there will be some added incentive as 4 of the Australian team have Croatian heritage
(Mark Viduka, Zeljko Kalac, Tony Popovic & Josip Skoko).

The feck you will. You're an average team imo where as we have depth in our squad, and quality at that.

Klasnic will tear you lot apart.

Never, I was born 'n raised in Croatia and I'm only supporting them when it comes to the WC. I wanted USA in our group, so the world could see us beating them.

Maybe they have a divine right to beat us

Unlike the URGayans, we worked for our qualification. We finished first in the group, beat Sweden twice[England haven't beat them in 50 yrs I hear?]. We aren't cocky so we'll take you seriously but we're good non the less.

Australia with all due respect don't have too many good strikers. Yes there's Viduka but who else is there?

Not cocky did you say?? You sound fairly cocky to me!!!  ???

Australia has earned their right to be at the world cup, just as Croatia has.

Just for arguements sake; the FIFA rankings has Uruguay ranked 17 - Australia beat them.

Croatia is currently ranked 20...imminently beatable!!

We'll just wait and see :buttrock

FIFA rankings are shit, if you take them seriously then you're suggesting that the U.S.A. is really better than England?

We had a much tougher group than you did and the reason we're ranked lower than Uruguay is because the last world cup  was weighted more in the rankings and we were poor that year.

Btw, when I said that ''we'' weren't cocky I ment the players.
