Who flicked the off switch at half-time?  Woeful defending on set pieces after the interval.  They best get to work correcting that before the weekend!

Great goal from Stevie though...drifted into position silently and then attacked the ball well, with great placement--a textbook headed goal!

Stevie should have been appointed captain of that squad. At least he could have motivated them to show a bit of grit and determination.

God its hard to put a positive spin on that result, Robinson and our entire back line looked very dodgy to say the least. For me our problems start at the top with Sven in charge its any easy excuse, but at the moment every team in the tournament will want to play us (including Australia :D ).

If its not upfront or midfield its the defence, I could sit here and pick the performance to bits, but I suppose I'm glad to count my lucky stars we're still in the tournament.  :(

Ithought Hargreaves had a decent first half but badly lost his way in the second. Fat Frank had his usual shots at goal (one wasnt bad) Carragher had a poor game by his standards and Campbell didnt seem to adjust to pace of the game when he came on.Beckham was poor again. MOM J Cole.

Well..terrible defending..very disappointing end to the match, could have had a first win over sweden for decades with a stevie g winner only for the sh.it defending to cost us one. Great goal by Gerrard, joe cole impressed me, wayne rooney was effective and played well for his first start. Ridiculous the little tantrum and sulk he had when he was substituted though.

I dont think England played too badly today, improvement on the last 2 performances anyway it was only the woeful defending that let us down this time

After this world cup, the world will reckon that LFC has the best midfield of the world. Alonso-Gerrard.

I see England passing above Ecuador, btw.

I didn't see the first two games but if this game was an improvement on the first two, as GOAT suggests, I'm glad I didn't see them.

England have the players there to be one of the best teams in the world but the sharp end (Sven) of the attempt lets the ship down badly.  ???

We knew that anyway Sabre  :D  (On your first comment)

On your second comment, I dont not on any of the performances I've seen from them.

England were so poor. Can you imagine that performance in the Premiership?

Abysmal. I blame Erikkson - he is a :censored: manager, freakin team of strangers.

Only positives were Hargreaves and Cole.

4-5-1 with Gerrard behind a loan striker. Contrary to what Southgate says that does NOT mean 'shutting up shop'

Beckham - waste of space - I'd drop him and play Lennon. Abysmal

Sorry guys, on THAT performance England will be lucky to beat Ecuador.

lionheart  your right we were bloody awful  hard to believe we will be that bad against ecuador, if we are we will go out, but we are far more suited to playing knockout games so on that basis i fancy us...but ecuador will be a different cattle of fish against us than the one that played germany...i honestly believe ecuador at full strenth would have beaten germany...swedens last goal has anyone ever seen more shambolic defending than that...     ???
